ANYONE WORKING IN THE US GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE ASSHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR TAKING GIFTS AND MONEY FROM PEOPLE THAT WANT TO TEAR DOWN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.THE GOVERMENT IS SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES,NOT GAINING FOR MONEY FOR THEMSELVES.GOD HELP US!!!!!

The source of funds is problematic, and I don't think that Mr. Clinton should be receiving large gifts from countries which promote terrorism (eg Saudi Arabia). As we know too well, the Clintons are only human. It's going to be hard for Hillary to negotiate with some rogue nation if at the same time Bill is getting funds for his trust from that nation (or its citizens). Mr Lugar is spot on in his criticism, and he's also right to suggest even tighter limits on contributors than the Clintons have currently agreed to.

Are you kidding me...Mr. Lugar take as seat and for heaven's sake just be quiet!!!!. Aren't you Republications tired of opposing everything and anyone that can actually strengthn and secure our precious nation? Go Hillary... and show them how to do a job well done for the red, white and blue!!!!!!!!!!!

Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations states: (14) Employees shall endeavor to avoid any actions creating the appearance that they are violating the law or

the ethical standards set forth in this part. Whether particular

circumstances create an appearance that the law or these standards have

been violated shall be determined from the perspective of a reasonable

person with knowledge of the relevant facts. (end quote). Avoiding even the appearance of a conflict of interest is a principle which applies to all Federal employees. As Obama said he would bring change to Washington, wouldn't strict adherence to Federal rules be consistent with that position?

There is no conflict of interests. Hillary will be an excellent Secretary of States.

I cannot believe how rude was Senator David Vitter in his questioning. Voters need to keep a close look into his job performance. It is time for all policians to be accountable, regardless of their party affiliations.

There is no doubt in my mind that Hillary marches to a different beat than her husband. Am I concerned of a possible conflict of interest? NO! Is Lugar grabbing at anything to voice some dissent as a Republican? YES!

Nancy of WA 10:36AM January 14, 2009

Of course it would be a conflict of interest, how else could it be. Would I as a representative believe everything she said at the hearing...NO! She and Bill Clinton during his presidency were not truthful with the people or their own part,,,what makes you think either of them would be now...other than she still wants to be President.

It would be nice for a change to see our politicians worry more about the people rather than themselves .
