We lived in Alaska for five years. This state is often overlooked, with the exception on the last presidential election.

We lived in Fairbanks and in Anchorage and found both places to be unique and cross cultural with plenty of room for growth.

Though not without problems, many things are magnified in the lower 48. We now live outside of Pittsburgh, PA in Moon Township. This area has only changed slightly from when we lived here 30 years ago. Racial and class separation is rampant, crime is out of control in Pittsburgh. African-Americans have little to no middle class. Our property, a custom carriage home in the high $300's has been on the market for 3 months and is virtually worthless. Taxation is out rageous.
