President-elect Obama's choice of the Rev. Rick Warren to deliver the invocation and his inauguration has upset those on both sides of the aisle. The Saddleback Church Reverend is seen as less than tolerant by many gay groups, while some on the right view Warren's acceptance as a tacit sign of approval for Obama's policies. For his part, Obama says that including Warren in the inauguration is an attempt to transcend social divisions: this is "part of what my campaign is all about." Should Obama have picked Warren to deliver the inaugural invocation? Will this help to heal America's social divisions, or is his choice merely symbolic? Post your thoughts.
