I m from India and proudly say that our President is a woman, Ruling party's head is a woman and we had a Prime Minister a Woman which we don't see with USA. We/ our families are bound by very strong moral values which teach us to respect a relationship and live up to the expectation of a relationship. We are bound to be responsible towards our family members. This is applicable to both genders. This may seem a bit harsh if you look from outside but this gives a kind of social and emotinal security.

I really don't understand, why people compare Mumbai attack with 9/11?? If we look back two decades, we have seen thousands of 9/11. I also don't blame USA for making Pakistan a Terror Hub by funding and arming unconditionally as USA may have its own various national interests. But I blame my Indian Govt. for expecting USA to take action what India should have taken on its own or it must take this time, i.e., DECISIVE WAR AGAINST TERROR(PAKISTAN).

No way does it even come close!!! You almost expect something like that over there, they are so 3rd world in the way most of them live and treat girls like animals.

It was not of the same scale as 9/11 or as shockingly devestating both in its physical and mental anguish. It may help bring the issue more to the emerging third world, letting them know they are targets as well. Al-Qaeda is a religious war maker, until the other religions and the true followers of Islam join forces Al-Qaeda will live in some form. Religious extremists are the cause of almost all violent death in the world including in the US. In the United States extreme religions like the Southern Baptists, Catholics, Mormons and some of the other smaller extremist churches cause more death through suicides than any other cause of death besides disease. You might say that these Extremists are a sociatel disease.

US is the symbol of growth, prosperity and democracy.9/11 attack was to create terror and damage growth, prosperity, democreacy.Primafacie Mumbai Attack is of the same kind.It is quite possible that attack is inspired by Al Qaeda- 9/11

I think the 9/11 was a strategic atack on the US economy. I feel the terrorist attacks are not just to instill 'terror' or 'fear'. I for one believe that there are bigger minds, maybe even government behind these terrorist. After the 9/11, the US economy has plunged into a downturn, thanks to the loss of disrupted business, loss of tourism revenue, and a very very expensive war. While 9/11 was not the only reason, it definately stands out. I mean think about it.. Why would they want to attack the hub of America's business - the world trade center and not maybe the whitehouse, or any other places. In that aspect, I think this mumbai attack is similar to 9/11. They have just smashed into the business city of India, have totally discouraged tourism by mainly targeting at foriengers as hostages and are maybe looking for a war with pakistan which would only make the already reccessive Indian economy worse. Yes..!!! Definately, there seems to be some amount of inspiration drawn..

Yes and no because whilst the 9/11 changed the way world looked

at terrorism and America in particular which took some tough measures and rallied the whole world (offcourse mainly the non muslim contries) against the terrorists, having studied the history of India and its civilization which nodoubt is the oldest and the most vibrant civilization on this earth, i doubt any radical change would happen in the way India handles it in future because through out the history India and its civilization had never been aggressive and assertive which is the reason why it had been time and again attacked, conquered plundered and looted by forces from outside probably thats the reason why even with so many attacks its population is so resilent and in turn they have given to the world all the Gandhi's and Bhudda's (most of the great religions were born in India), I think India should change with its new economic power status and should deal with its islamic adverseries with an iron hand with the help of its new found friend America who are more than eager to help in all possible terms(including nuclear cooperation).

Although the number of those killed and injured in the attacks in Mumbai are less than those for the 9/11 attacks in the U.S. it is still just as devastating for their country and the world whether it was inspired by the al Qaeda 9/11 attacks or not.
