The GOP Needs a New Game Plan

It is going to take more than the approach you mention. It is going to take a complete reversal of behavior by everyone who submitted vituperative comments EVERY DAY for the last EIGHT YEARS against not only the Republican party, but every Republican in the country beginning with George Bush. The verbage was verbal assassination. The only thing that will make a real difference is when these people leave the world, and that they have not infected their immediate family and friends before they take their leave. Sorry! But with the print media, the internet and message boards - and other electronic media contaminated in this way the hatred is imprinted on the population that lives by the bits and pieces of what they hear or read, but NEVER think things through.

Republicans are in for a bumpy ride for a long time.

Too much is lacking in the mores of the US. Education is suffering. Financial literacy is missing and a true sense of right and wrong has gone astray.

If people are offended about those turkeys being slaughtered what about those babies being aborted everyday. What you say about that?. Hypocracy? Grow up please.

It was not Sarah doing the killing of those turkeys; it was that farm worker that could not wait to go work. Its the media again attacking Sarah Palin. This could have been prevented if they just stop the interview/filming for a second and made the corrections right there, But no they keep filming thinking "this is great! Cant wait to show this to all." Look, millions of turkeys get slaughtered every year for Thanks Givind Day, I dont think its a big deal.

Sarah Palin giving an interview in front of the slaughter of turkeys ought to finish her off on the national stage. It's just too dumb----and video is forever.

The GOP is like an alcoholic admitting he has a morning coffee addiction. His coffee addiction is merely covering up his real problem. The economy certainly helped Obama. Even without an economic crisis, Palin would have still had the problem of being grossly underqualified for the job.

Your first poster is unfortunately an example of the way MOST (HARD CORE) Republicans think. They appear to not want any form of change, instead they want ALL or nothing. If their base prefers to stay the same. Then like the dinosaurs, they will not survive. Maybe those that do not want to change should ALL move to Alaska with Palin, succeed from the U.S.and make their own country called Republicania! Anyone whether on the right or left that thinks only their side has ALL of the right ideas is wrong. Too many on here preach for their side only. Unfortunately, this philosophy comes at the high cost of harming and almost destroy this country. To many here forget the words, "UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL !. Put the needs of the (UNITED) STATES first or get out. This country has no need for those that put their beloved party above all. What this country needs is a spirit of cooperation and awareness. We are at a fork in the road, wakeup! One way, the only my party is right way, Leads the United States spiraling down the path of destruction. Where as the other way, UNITE, for the good of the UNITED STATES, leads a way of hope! A hope, to restore this once great country to its proper glorious world standing. If you do not want this, Please move to ALASKA.

I don't think you need any real tactics or strategy in dealing with the "hard lefties" who now control... Well just about everything... Just sit back and watch 'em shoot themselves and self destruct. Laugh or cry - it should be entertaining.

All they have to do is go back to the platform of 1980 and walk the talk. Bring in the "Contract with America" and stick to it. That's all that is needed.

For the next 4 years they need to let the Democrats and Obama have what they ask for; the judges, the appointees, the bills, and so on. They need to voice their solutions and opposition but not obstruct, remember they won the election. Give the American people what they ask for but be prepared with better solutions and if things go the wrong direction they will be in a great position to take the White House and the Congress back.

Trying to become Dem-Lite or Leftwing-Lite will only cause them to continue their losing ways.

Larry of CA 12:04PM November 18, 2008

Doug.love your logic but didn't the Republicans shoot themselves in the foot with hispanics during immigration xenophobia debate, with fiscal conservatives by partying along with the Dems for 8 years and finally they shot themselves in the head by embracing a moron like SP to try to game the social conservatives into believing this was an important election? It was only 5 years ago that the Dems admitted we were the party of ideas. Behind tolerant fiscal conservatives, we will be again. Good Luck!
