  • 516,000: Number of first-time filings for unemployment benefits in the week that ended November 8
  • 484,000: Number of first-time filings for unemployment benefits in the week that ended November 1
  • 338,000: Last year, number of jobless filings in week corresponding to most recent week
  • 3,897,000: Number of Americans who had been collecting unemployment benefits for one week or more during the week that ended November 1 (an increase of 65,000 from the previous week)
  • 2,587,000: At this time last year, number of Americans collecting unemployment benefits
