Kellerman reflects correctly that this is a watershed moment in our Democracy and the history of how the ruled will impact the the rulers in the future. It's interesting that this election so closely follows the writing of Eric Hoffer's "true believer" and the catclysmic "power shift" discribed in Toffler's book of the same name. While Obama understands the potential of the internet and acted on it with some skill, the "power shift" is not going to suddenly become a static tool for him to enact major change in American Government and society. Indeed, his choice of a whole host of Clinton era operatives is more of a withdrawal to policies in both the domestic and international arena that hardly bolstered the financial and moral foundation of the nation, and was inherited by an adminstration totally berift of management skills, and was further plagued by values in the public sector and financial marketplace that will scar our history for years to come. If, indeed the "true believers" have disdain for authority... they best consider that they must accept responsibility in this brave new world. The information age, like the industrial age before it demands moral courage, skill and hard work from everyone who choses to participate.

Its going to take character, from both sides of the political spectrum for Americans to rescue America from the abiss.

No, cange in this context means finally throwing the chains of the intolerable off our necks. The only worship people I know are doing is repeatedly and earnestly thanking the Creator for sparing us from another 4 yrs. of demonic, inept, negligible, plutocratic cronyism that has been the hallmark of the last, world disrupting, 8 yrs. Rejecting diversity - whether it be of: culture, ethnicity, class, gender, religion, or point of view is what caused such an embarassing and deserving loss for the GOP. Just because your ilk turn a blind eye to the atrocities for profit policies of your preferred "leaders" does not mean the rest of us are equally bereft of souls or critical thought. Obama will have unpopular policies, and some we will not let happen and others will end in compromise. If this reality makes us pod people, Obamatrons send me my t-shirt, and I'll wear it proudly.

If "change" means tolerating the intolerable - including the intolerable and worshiping diversity for its own sake - regardless of content or effect - Well, sounds like a perfect world for "pod people" and Obamatrons...
