How Did Hillary Clinton Do With Her Convention Speech?

After the last eight years of republicans taking tax breaks and creating jobs in other countries instead of here, a war over oil instead of investing in renewable energy, and an economy only driven by an artificial bubble caused by speculation and greed, I can't see how anyone other than the ultra rich can continue to be a republican. If people are ignorant enough to defect from the democratic party and support McCain over something as petty as Hillary losing the nomination, then they will certainly get what they deserve if he wins. If McCain does win, we will continue to live in a country that serves only the interests of the wealthy, renewable energy sources will continue to stall, education will become a insurmountable expense instead of being accessible to everyone, and the middle class will continue to sink towards poverty.

Truth be known there are plenty of people who are certainly

let down that the Dems have blown it with Obama as the candidate. Hillary would

have made a brilliant president and her speech certainly projected that...........Such a shame!!!

I will vote for McCain and this will be a first Republican vote

for me in a loooooooong time.

Yo. Mr. 61 year old.

Why are all you men so afraid of having a woman president?

And what makes you think a black man is going to be any better?

And what the hell do you know about being a woman.

Sorry I'm not using a bunch of technical political words.

But that might just be because I'm 14 years old, but honestly. Hillary doesn't want anything "owed" to her for losing to Obama. She has more balls then all you men do. She has the balls to still support Obama. So why would she want anything "owed" to her? And if you think Obama can add up to Regan or Kennedy HAHAHAHAHAHAH. All I can do is respond to that with laughter. Oh and you ms. have you forgotten? Have you forgotten that no one would know what the outcome of the war would be before anyone voted for it? And about white water. Everyone makes mistakes. And all of you make a big deal out of the littlest BS. People get cheated on. Just because he has an affair is that supposed to make him a bad person? No. It just means that he made a MISTAKE like everyone does every single day! Oh and all we've been through the PAST SEVERAL YEARS are lies, deception, and narcissistic self-centeredness. That's why we needed something new. Oh and you voting for Mccain. NO WAY. NO HOW. NO MCCAIN.

:]

The speech was pretty good, but she should have gone further by stating something to the effect that as she got to know Obama better she gained a greater appreciation for him and his abilities, i.e., that she now knows he is ready to lead. This would have helped by countering McCain's commercials showing her comments (and Biden's), from the primary, stating that she didn't feel Obama was qualified or ready to be president. She could also have spent more time trying to win over (for Obama) her embittered supporters by giving a detailed listing of her and Obama's positions - and how different they are from McCain's.

Overall I think her speech was effective and should help bring most of her supporters into the fold. Those who feel she was someone cheated out of getting enough votes to become the nominee because of her gender are grasping at straws - considering the even greater challenge of race and comparative anonymity that Obama had to overcome. I actually supported Hillary, but find it ridiculous that the PUMA's allege that her downfall was the result of some massive, sexist, covert male-dominated mainstream media / good ol' boy network. Hillary sunk her own ship by starting her campaign like she was a sure thing and not realizing until it was too late that people want more than platitudes and facts and figures. The more human and down-to-earth she became the better she was received, but it was simply too little, too late.

What kind of woman will it take to finally prove she can sit in the white house? I am voting for McCain. If my vote won't count with the dems, with whom I have voted my entire life (I'm a baby boomer), then I'll use my vote to be heard. Oh, and if you look from a distance or with a microscope, these two parties are not different. It was a Democratic congress that gave Bush the Iraq War and a lot of other things. Did they impeach him? No. Did they investigate and impeach him for Halliburton? No. Did they impeach Cheney? No. What is running this country is an international cartel of businessmen.

The amount of selfishness, self-centeredness that is being shown by Hilary and Bill both is deeply offensive and demonstrates a narcissism and disregard for America that gives one pause to contemplate possible emotional and psychological sickness.

Have you forgotten White Water?

Have you forgotten the implementation of NATO without protection to American jobs.

Have you forgotten she voted FOR the War in Iraq?

Have you forgotten Bill Clinton concentrated more on his own personal desires than on his legacy, his commitment to his family and to America and that Hilary has known of these affairs and yet has lied and covered for him for years?

Have you forgotten that Hilary Clinton only has her time as first lady that she bases her "credentials" on?

Have you forgotten she supported Eliott Spitzer during the primaries on his plan to give illegal immigrants a driver's license which would facilitate voter fraud on a level never before seen in this country? (even by GW Bush Republicans)

Are lies, deception, and narcissistic self-centeredness honestly what you want for this country over the next several years?

The "experienced" people have been in the White House for the last 8 years. To use Bill's words, "you can say that no one is really 'ready' to be President...." This includes Hilary and the robbers and traitors who have reduced this country and it's citizens to rubbish over the past 16 years.

Move forward Americans!!

I'm 61 years old and I feel the Clinton's are on a power trip!

I feel we have seen and heard just about enough from both of them! She isn't owed anything from losing to Obama, this country is not ready for a women president! They began their dishonesty when they started in Arkansas and he was Governor. Have all the Americans forgotten White water? All she wants is to be President and she thinks of nothing else! This probably won't go any further but I feel Obama will make another great President like Ragan or Kennedy!
