Our daily look at stories and topics lighting up the Internets:
Focus on Obama
James Dobson tears into Obama, making WashMo's Kevin Drum think that irking Dobson really isn't very hard. Andrew Sullivan seems to think it's not anger as much as fear, and other liberal bloggers agree. Hot Air's Allahpundit manages to both brush off Dobson and criticize Obama. And Taylor Marsh thinks it's the latest reason to bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
Charlie Black: Rorschach test
If you're conservative, you probably feel that Charlie Black was just stating the obvious when he said that McCain would benefit from a terrorist attack. If you're a liberal, you probably believe he should resign. What do you think?
Energetic campaigning
As McCain goes green in Cali and Obama talks energy in Vegas, NDN's Jake Berliner notes that in a Gallup Poll released today, energy and gas prices are considered by more Americans to be extremely important than any other issue in the presidential election. In what the Page's Mark Halperin sees as a possible shot at Obama, McCain says that "practical ideas are worth a lot more than uplifting lectures" when it comes to energy (uplifting lectures may be out, but Matthew Yglesias notes that McCain's plan is chock-full of psychic benefits). But with 19 percent more Americans believing that Obama would be better able to handle energy issues, the Huffington Post's Margaret Heffernan slams McCain for dodging the hard truths about energy consumption and climate change.
Conservatives love Jon Stewart! (For about 4½ minutes)
Jon Stewart's extended jab at Obama over the faux seal draws love from the red blogs.
