DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania (AP) — Democratic President Barack Obama and Republican predecessor President George W. Bush are proving it's a small world after all, with a chance encounter a long way from home.

The two men plan to appear together briefly Tuesday, when they both will be in Dar es Salaam (dahr ehs sah-LAHM'), Tanzania.

Obama is on the final day of a weeklong tour of the continent, while the George W. Bush Institute is hosting a two-day summit on African women.

Michelle Obama and Laura Bush plan to appear together on a panel at the summit, while the two presidents lay a wreath at the memorial for 11 Americans killed in the U.S. Embassy bombing nearly 15 years ago.
