Lightning Kills 3 Women on German Golf Course

BERLIN (AP) — German police say three women were killed on a golf course when lightning struck a shelter they fled to during a violent thunderstorm.

Police in the central German town of Korbach said a fourth woman was critically injured in the incident Friday.

Spokesman Dirk Virnich said the women — local residents aged between 41 and 67 — had been playing golf before they fled to the small wooden shelter.

Virnich gave no further information on the victims' identities in line with German privacy laws.
