Obama and Holbrooke both know Kashmir is part of India itself. They don’t want to appear stupidly foolish by falling into the Pakistani trap and raise the Kashmir issue after Pakistani nationals murdered 172 civilians from 10 nations in Mumbai. The Americans would be rewarding Pakistani and as much as Pakistan wants it, the Americans are not that stupid to follow Nixon’s 1971 stupidity to cross Indians and support Pakistani slaughter of Bangladeshis and their antisemetic terrorism in Mumbai.

Holbrooke is a much more intelligent diplomat than Pakistanis give him credit for. By sponsoring Mumbai attacks on civilians Pakistanis have forever lost Indian good will and earned hate and scorn from all civilized nations. Stop dreaming about other’s property and mind your on country. Kashmir is now off the table for good after Mumbai. What is this nonsense I hear about “sovreign nation” and “drones” in FATA?? Hon. President and Commander-In-Chief of the the most powerful Superpower in the Universe is a paying customer of Pakistan (some $20 billion US taxpayers monies, most of which is and was used for nefarious puposes and stolen by your leaders), and as such he or his surrogates, the CIA have every right to bend Pakistan a little and penetrate from behind into Pakistan’s “hot-bed”, FATA, as many times a day as he pleases, as agreed upon by your leaders. Before Pakistanis start to complain about drones, get sore and uncomfortable, consider this , your own leadership declares every day “we Pakistanis are victims of terrorism” and “US must invest in Pakistan so the hopeless youth stop getting recuited as terrorists”.After what the terrorists did to your other leader Benazir Bhutto, Pakistanis ought to be thankful to Obama for hitting the bad guys, but instead you are ungrateful? With “allies” like you who needs enemies right? If you want America to give you unlimited Dollars in aid, then play by Obama’s rules. Its not that hard to understand. How else is America going to trust Pakistan with nukes and all the F22s and F35s you want, when you fail such basic test? Instead you give America a reason for distrust and are backing off from your ‘front-line ally” status already by not standing with USA and fighting shoulder to shoulder. How? By torching USA’s 250 loaded military trucks in Karachi and Peshawar enroute to Afghanistan based US troops. Do you think this is a good way to extract favors or money ot of a very kind friend and Superpower USA.You guys are really getting stupid! Even Pakistan’s “all weather” and BFF China backed off helping Pakistan after what you guys did in Mumbai, evidence as seen and verfified by the EU and USA as Pakistani supported terror ativity.Well I hope Almighty give Pakistani people the smarts to choose wisely to avoid disasters in their path, because the so called “leaders” will be enjoying wine with the Sheiks in Dubai when US or one of Pakistan’s neigbor does throw a “game-changer” to alter history & geography of Pak forever.

Probably the biggest fear of US intelligence agencies is that their budgets might be cut 98% after the US economy collapses. But US government adventurism might disappear, too.

Emma, thanks for pointing out my typo. I see you have not been to BONDSTEEL. If you compare it to bases in the Balkans, such as the ones the TMK had, then it might be considered big. Compared to other US bases on foreign soil, it is a far cry from being a HUGE base. I also noted you used the term "Albanian-speak". I have heard that same phrase used by Serb supporters. Intresting. It is also intresting that you mis-directed my post indicating I thought the 1999 war was because of some love affair with the people. I mentioned the fondness the Kosovars have for the US AFTER the war. Dont you think it could be because we saved them from being dumped into a well? The KLA could not doi t. By the way, we probably do agree that the TMK,basicly, the old KLA, is nothing more than a well armed orginized crime family. Started out as freedom fighters, not unlike our own history. But, the went criminal very fast!!!

Uh, huh, Carl Maddoxx of GA, keep talking. You tell more about yourself than anything else. No, I'm not a Serb but I am an intelligent person. First off, you can't even spell 'Bondsteel' correctly, and you were there for three years? The way you talk sounds very much Albanian-speak. As for Bondsteel, it's a huge military base. It's been described as a smaller version of (the more huge) Guantanamo. That's why USA bombed, to get that base and inroads into the whole of that region. So, it's mostly strategic and very little to do with a great love affair with the folks there. It's a matter of 'we'll scratch your back - because we really need this base'.

Pakistan is the original, textbook "rogue nation" and a perennial menace to international security and peaceful relations among countries around the globe.

When Pakistan first became an independent, sovereign state, the Pakistani Government actually SPONSORED various terrorist organizations to fight against India in Kashmir. Now those groups, apparently having demonstrated organizational abilities that are far superior to those of the Pakistani Government, have grown beyond the control of the Government; so much so that the Pakistani Government has made at best only half-hearted efforts to institute a serious crackdown on the terrorist organizations incubating within its borders. So, the military gained immense power and can easily rival, if not overthrow, the civilian Government.

The weakness of the Pakistani Government becomes painfully evident when one reads and watches investigative journalists' reports while on assignment in Karachi and other cities and small towns in the northern regions of Pakistan near the Afghanistan border. There are probably more Kalishnikov submachine guns than there are people and men are seen walking around firing into the air like little boys playing with toys.

Oh, and to top it all off, Pakistan is now about to release from house arrest their top nuclear scientist, who sold nuclear technology to a number of other rogue nations and is personally repsonsible for much of the current world-wide nuclear proliferation. As a result of all this, Pakistan is a powder keg - a giant "munitions dump" stocked with nuclear weapons - and this poses a grave threat to the entire world. I don't know what the answer is, but I do know that someone had better start paying more attention to the problematic weakness and instability of Pakistan's government and find a way to get them to "get a grip," or Pakistan will continue to pose an ever greater danger and threat to domestic and international security, geopolitical stability, the environment and peaceful international relations.

Hey Emma of "XX" (wherever that is, maybe Serbia). Have you been to Camp Bondsteele? I would not call it huge at all. Thats why they call it a "camp". I spent three years in Kosovo. I saw more American flags there any day of the week then I do in the US on the 4th of July. The only people there that dont like Americans are the Serbs. Maybe because they lost and their attempted destruction of the Albanians was stopped. It seems to me if we had conducted such rentless bombings of the citizens they would not like us so much. There is a three story poster of Bill Clinton in the capital Pristina. The only chaos we caused was to the Serbians, because they were killing the people in the villages, not only the KLA. Maybe you should read about all the wells that were used to dump the bodies of the elderly and young victims of the Serbs.

Carl Maddoxx of GA 2:30AM February 14, 2009

You gave a fitting title to your post. I agree about the murder of innocents, except I am referring to Sept 11. or is that "imaginary bogey of terrorism"? And I dont beleive anyone really thinks the US has committed any unprovoked attackes on anyone. You obviously only get your information from the media. HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?? I can assume you did not post your full name because it is middle eastern. If you dont like what the US does my friend, then go back home, pick up a RPG or AK47 and meet us on the battlefield. Its easy to be tough behind a keyboard huh....

Thomas Choate of FL 2:16AM February 14, 2009

The only reason ex-Yugoslavia is considered a powder keg is because outsiders have continuously caused chaos in the region. USA-NATO are the latest culprits. There was a 78-day relentless bombing campaign in 1999, using cluster bombs and depleted uranium against the citizens and infrastructure. Why? Not because of humanitarian concerns but because of the need for yet another huge military base, USA's Camp Bondsteel.

Emma 12:04AM February 14, 2009

Maybe your time would be better served by grabbing the rifle in the back of your pickup and heading off to a war-zone; and bring a few of your red-neck cousins with you. This is a perfect example of what happens when people marry their siblings.

Gabriel M of CA 10:52PM February 13, 2009

Where there is no enemy, we must create one. For the 'intelligence community', there is always need to create fear and threats, while the true threats to the US society has always been these 'intelligence' community.

Where there is real threat, they are clueless, as in the case of Bin Laden.

These secuirty experts are total waste of time.
