I just read Mortimer Zuckerman's editorial in the June 2010 issue of U.S. News and totally agree with him. Jerusalem is the city of the Jews. It was given to them by God and He has declared it His holy city. I am a 75-year old Christian woman and have always held the belief that when He returns this is where He will come. We cannot jeopardize this city. It is the holy city of Jews and Christians alike. I am so very disappointed in the Obama administration for not standing fast on our vow to always be allies with Israel. The Bible clearly states that those who curse Israel will themselves be cursed. If we want to remain a strong nation, we must strongly support Israel and an undivided Jerusalem.

First, some of us don't like how a few world leaders and terrorists groups want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.
Second, many don't like the hostility going on in the region. Peace attempts create various controversies as to who is in the right.
Your biblical reference is about the end of time and is most likely connected to when the armies of Gog and Magog attack in Ezekiel 38-39.
Also, I find it odd that the Israelis set-up emergency tents the day they got there and were able to start working immediately. It took the US a day or two and we're just a few miles away.

"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be agathered together against it."

Arabs should accept that just as Ire-Land is the Land of the Irish and Eng-Land the Land of the English and Fin-Land the Land of the Finns, the name Eretz Yisrael means the Land of the Israelis. The identity of the land is the same as the identity of the nation residing in it; therefore, the Nation of Israel, the Jews, cannot be an occupier of the Land of Israel. The Crusaders named the land “Kingdom of Jerusalem.” The Arab occupation did not have a name for the land; it was referred to merely as “southern Syria.” For 1,300 years, the land had no identity in the absence of the Biblical Jewish nation that identified itself with it. No one claimed ownership but our nation. This is the entire story. The Arabs demand that Israeli governments transfer the land free and clear of Jews. As long as there are Jews in Judea, that place cannot not be called by its false name – “Palestine.” The only thing that stops the cadre of traitors from transferring our land to the enemy, already at our gates, is their inability to uproot the settlements. Those communities halt the wheels of destruction as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi9g8http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/battle-for-land-of-israels-identity.html

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii
for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president. Consult : http://xrl.us/bgeewc

The Mandate (Article 5) stipulated that "no Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of, the Government of any foreign Power." This means that under international law, no one can force the Jewish State to cede any land that is legally recognized as belonging to the Jewish homeland. This renders the 1947 UN Partition Plan an illegal resolution. About the lies blocking peace in the M-E at :
The instability will not simply remain within Israel's borders. Hamas is a wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, which seeks to overthrow Egypt's government and replace it with an Islamic state. Palestinian Arab terrorism has long been a destabilizing factor in Jordan and Lebanon's politics. What they lacked before was a secure national base of operations. Something that the "Two State Solution" will finally provide them with. if the Two State Solution will not end terrorism or bring stability to the Middle East, what exactly will it solve? What evidence do you have that Israel is an apartheid regime? I know they have political parties which include Arabs and Muslims. If we are going to attack someone, let's attack Hamas and other terrorist groups who antagonize Israel daily. Why is Israel guarding borders so extensively? Gee, I don't know...Could it be that they are surrounded by enemies who don't fight fair or care about a peaceful resolution.
Give back land? Only if the US is willing to give back land to the Indians, England, France, Spain, Mexico, etc. first. I do not believe that will happen so I don't think we should expect the same from Israel.
Combination? No, again jihadists are just going to continue their attacks.
Dr. Shadeof NC9:37PM December 16, 2009
The short sighted step of creating Israel on the ruins of Plaestine and its innocent people has led to the creation of terrorist groups who are ready to sacrifice their own bodies in a holy war against Israel and the countries that suport its apartheid regime.Once we stop our unlimited support to the Israeli military gangs whose only game is to kill as many Palestinian women and children as they can everyday, once all Palestinian refugees return home to their stolen land and belongings under un resolution 194 which Israel arrogantly refuses to implement, once a secular state is established on all the land of Historical Palestine for Jews,Moslems and Christians with equal rights and responsibilities and without any apartheid or descrimination, all terror on the world will definitely disappear forever.

This dilema has become a photo op for American Presidents to be seen in the middle of the hand shake between an Israeli PM and an Arab counterpart. This is especially the case now becasue of Obama's weakness with regard to international diplomacy.
It's seen as a rather pathetic gester anymore. I think it was Carter and the media that made much to do about nothing. Now every President since sees this dilema as a photo op and a way to show off diplomacy muscle. Pretty lame, since nothing constructive is ever achieved.
