I'm sure London will deliver the best Olympic games the world has ever seen, after all it has the experience of holding these large scale events more than any other city and already has so many prestigious sporting venues, spending does not have to be the on the same level as it in Athens, Bejing or Atlanta

i think it was more about china proving itself to the world. it has always been seen as a poverty abject country, with a high Gini coefficient and all that. now that the world has seen what china can become, it's beginning to sit up and take notice. london's olympics games will be seen as mediocre after beijings.

I think it's disgraceful for the Chinese government to have spent $44 billion on the olympics, considering the poverty and living conditions of millions of their people. Where are their priorities?, certainly not with the people of China.

At first, let us celebrate for the Beijing Olympic Games. As a Chinese,I was really honor to Chinese Olympic Organisetion and Zhang Yimou. But I felt that they were a little lavish too.Why we can't enjoy a wonderful and low-cost Olympic Games.I hope it will come true in London.

london already got it before, twice I think. If they can't afford it, why not have other countries do it. Yeah, it is a big deal for the world to have a big show every four years!

London need not prove itself or showcase to the world. The money blown on Olympic extravaganza can be spent on other needs.
China needed to prove itself and it did.We need pure games and achievements not showmanship.

Ther's no need to cost too much money on this, what we want is pure Olympic game.
