You people are out of touch, uniformed and just ignorant.
Major gas and oil pipelines were constructed in Georgia with US backing despite Russian protest. The Puppet president of Georgia Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who was put in office by a Rigged Election process, ordered the attack on South Ossetia, slaughtered over 2,000 people, destroyed Villages & towns in order to occupy and take over South Ossetia and run more gas and oil pipelines through the country for the profits of the corporations that would build them.
Human lives mean nothing to Evil Gas and Oil corporations. The USA government is controlled by Corporations, and there for had an interest in the Georgian take over of South Ossetia. This is why the USA sent military trainers and equipment to Georgia before the war. This was to prepare Georgia for the attack on South Ossetia.
But the attack and slaughter of South Ossetia people came to an end when RUSSIA entered South Ossetia and put their FOOT UP GEORGIA's ASS!!!. Russia then pushed Georgia troops out of South Ossetia back into Georgia, then ran through Georgia like a fire in a dry forest.
Russia completely destroyed Georgia evil USA back army, destroyed Georgia military bases and airports, then stayed for a while to make sure that Georgia behaves themselves.
Their are a lot of American citizens whom I talk to in a store, on the streets and at work, who know that our media lies, and that Georgia was the bad guys.
OUR HERO'S ARE RUSSIA.
The idea was that Georgia

An interesting suggestion from Steve Levine. The Russians have a big weakness. Bush, Obama and McCain should keep in mind Russia's Achilles Heel as they deal with Putin and Medvedev. Levine knows this area, having covered wars in Chechnya, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Tajikistan as well as the Soviet-Afghan war: http://oilandglory.com/2008/08/russias-achilles-heel.html

One wise man told:
"Tell me who's your friend and I'll tell you who you are"
Saakashvilli sent his army to kill unarmed people in Tskhenval, to shot women and children... And american government proclaims him a hero! This is ourrageous! Have you ever tried to learn the truth? He must be punished just like any other terrorists, like Saddahm or Osama! Dear American friends, please, be informed that you're messing with a bad dude! Please, don't vote for McCain if you want the world to live in peace. REMEMBER: we don't want war!

"Saakashvilli, Georgian democrat that "led" the Rose Revolution"
On a list of the world democracies:
Russia = # 102
Georgia = # 104
The article will be more convincing if it had provided the source of money that supported the Rose Revolution.

Georgia's Saakashvili should be taken in front of the Hague court for crimes against humanity, he invaded South Ossetia killing thousands.What did he think would happen next ??
The USA is out of synch with enlightened power.The oil wars as they will be called in historical terms go on and on.

How would we like a Russian speaking leader running a piece of Mexico, next to our border? Not very much and our reaction would be the same as Russia------remember the Monroe Doctran. We are iterested in thsi guy because he hired excongressmen to represent him in this country. Why don't we wise up and forget trying to sell democracy all over the world. In some countries it doesn't work. Example African countries. Democracy too often breeds political corruption and only the few rising above the rest.

All I can say is READ THE DAMN HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH REPORT on this matter! How much longer can people speculate. Russia invaded a country just like Nazis invaded Poland. To "protect" it's citizens, who got their Russian passports illegally from Russia. Or to "protect" Russian "peacekeepers" come on people...

The fact is that Russia does not care who U.S. ally is or not. This is a red line. One can argue whether or not Saakashvili misjudged the depth of U.S. support but he was always tried to defend his country.
