What "bear" are you talking about? The Soviet Union is history. You all wanted to see the end of communism in Eastern Europe and former USSR. Well, there you have it. So, instead of showing your Cold War upbringing and general lack of knowledge in geography and culture of the region, ask yourself this question, "What the heck do you need there?" At least, some of you are more honest than your governments in acknowledging the fact the shield will aim at the Russian Federation instead of Iran. If 9/11 was not enough, wait till fed muslim world gets a couple of dirty bombs across the Atlantic. Instead of fighting commen threats around the world, you support your government in further allienating Russia. There is going to be no happy ending if this continues. What is this going to prove for the West - we can destroy Russia five times while they can only do it twice. Americans often quote their hard work and exhorbitant taxes, but how often were they really threatened to be extinguished. While you reach the benefit of avoiding devastating conflicts that Russia simply couldn't (Mongols, Swedes, Polish, Turkish, Napoleon, Hitler, others), make no doubt you have more to lose when the $hit hits the fan.

So pathetic are these fools ,When The Soviets were rapping and piledging there country ,they cried for American help ,Now there free They seem to forget that the bear is still breathing down there throughts and is angry as hell they lost control of there soviet bases ,I hope and pray they realize freedom comes with a cost ,or maybe the people in prague will put flowers in the Russian tanks again when they come back!

I am currently in Prague on holiday. Having recently been to the Communist Museum here I can see that these people want nothing more than to be left alone. They have been under foreign rule for most of the last 150 years, and do not want to go back to the cold war again. Do any of us??? This is not the answer.

You know, NO one wants the US around until they NEED us. Go ahead, let them protest and possibly stop the missle defense shield. But one day, and it will eventually happen, when they need us for some form of protection, i'd let them look elsewhere.
