Yeah well, the kids don't like him anymore but just wait until he ramps up his campaign and starts bragging about his marvellous record: "For three years I've been focused like a laser on jobs, that's why I took that two-year diversion to shove that pig of a healthcare law down your throat! The price of gas is still sky high and I don't care. It's the only way I can force you serfs out of your cars. I'm the hero who ended that war in Iraq, since I was unsuccessful in forcing a flat out loss in 2007."

Yeah, that'll fire 'em up.

Polls lie. They all predict a tie on election day because they don't have a clue.

Friend JerseyGuy, actually, I didn't say the Pub congress spent like "drunken sailors", Sen. John McCain did. I should have said I stole his line. The Pubs passed huge spending bills, one of the first bills Bush signed when he came in to office was a huge bloated Agricutural bill. That was when I knew we were in trouble. He signed all the bills, never vetoed one spending bill until the Dems took over and then it was, all of a suddend, we have a debt problem and then he started vetoeing bills and if I remember correctly none of them got overturned. Is Obama perfect? Heck no, but to pillory him and lay all of this at his feet, pure blarney. The only reason the debt and projected debts didnt' look as bad under Bush, he didn't put two wars in the budget, now we do (did) and he put an expiration date on his tax cuts 'cause without it the future debt projections sky-rocketed.

Yes, Obama spent a ton of money, much of it I was unhappy with, but even his stimulus bill was a 1/3 tax cuts and, supposedly, that is the solution to all our problems. I know my Pub friends only want to look at spending as the culprit, but in reality, it has been spending and tax cuts that have done us in. It will only be reducing spending and increasing taxes that will get us out. I don't even think it has to be that drastic. Moderate changes would produce huge results.

By the way, when Bush left office, the GDP was minus 6.3 percent the last quarter of Bush, now it's plus 2 perecnt, an 8.3 percent swing in to positive territory. That is actually rather impressive.

Thank you for a spirited and yet civil debate. What truly makes America great is we can do this.

Maybe there's hope after all.

Who is this GOP candidate that young people think is capable of beating Obama? This story shows Obama trouncing Romney and Gingrich by wide margins!

Friend Jedd, knuckle-dragger? How did you know I was short? Dull twit, probably, but you know when people have to use insults to bolster their positions, it impresses me not one twit. Bush left office with 7.8 percent unemployment. He BRAGGED about increased home ownership in his second inaugural address. (See I was paying attetion.) He did NOTHING about Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, he DID weaken the SEC so it no longer was a proper watchdog, and Freddie and Fannie, excuse me, that was a bi-partisian failure. Bush did sign a bi-partisian crap bankruptcy bill that led our financial institutions to believe they had nothing to lose. The housing crash happened for a variety of reasons, but the one culprit I usually hold out for most of my outrage are the credit agencies that gave triple AAA ratings to junk. Now we have this European mess, I suppose that's Obama's fault too.

Thank you for responding to my comments. Nobody ever does. Sniff sniff. Next time, try more facts and less insulting though. It will help you make your case better. Unlike other people, I don't think Pubs are evil. I like the two-party system. It's a system of check and balance. We get in to trouble when one gets way too much power.

Bobarooni of ID 8:33PM December 15, 2011

Yawn. Remember, it was the self proclaimed smartest guys in the room that got us into this mess.

So why are they only comparing Obama and Romney with Obama voters? Is Harvard telling us who to vote for again? Is it because Romney and Obama are both one and the same and are both Harvard graduates who bow down to the same Illuminati masters? Tsk...Tsk... Shame, shame, shame. How about letting us, voters decide for a change. How about Obama and Ron Paul? Then watch the tables turn on Obama. That might work. But I know Paul is not bought and paid for by you Harvard Educated know it all wannabes. Grow up and stop controlling everything. Your SAT scores probably were skewed or you got into Harvard by the amount of riches your parents own and that's the only reason why you are where you are. Other than that, Harvard has an intelligence rate of 0 in my book.

BOBAROONI stated: "Bush's Pub Congress spent like "drunken sailors". Where were you then? Bush doubled the debt."

FACTS: In light of President Obama's "fiscal responsibility" blibber blabber, it’s worth keeping in mind his record on deficits as of August 2011. When Obama took office, the national debt stood at $10.626 trillion. It now stands at $14.071 trillion — a staggering increase of $3.445 trillion in just 735 days (about $5 billion a day).

To put that into perspective, when President Bush took office, our national debt was $5.768 trillion. By the time Bush left office, it had nearly doubled, to $10.626 trillion. Bush’s record on deficit spending was not good, the national debt rose by an average of $607 billion a year.

HOW DOES THAT COMPARE TO OBAMA? - During Obama’s presidency to date, the national debt has risen by an average of $1.723 trillion a year, or by a jaw-dropping $1.116 trillion more, per year, than it rose under Bush. How much in deficit spending did Bush spend on average per day during his presidency? Easy to figure out: $607 billion/365 days = $1.66 billion per day. That’s a lot of spending. But compared to Obama’s $5 BILLION of deficit spending per day? OBAMA SPENT WELL OVER THREE TIMES MORE PER DAY EVERY SINGLE DAY THAN DID BUSH.

If you want to argue that Bush looks bad, fine. But Obama looks positively vile.

Additionally, Bush's spending REALLY ramped up after Democrats controlled the House AND Senate. Look it up, others can't do all your homework. Thank God the country woke up in 2010 and we now have a Republican House to slow down Obama's insane spending.
