US government continues to subsidize the oil and gas industry but I guess for everyone else...it sucks to be you, huh? Bees are environmental "canaries" - an indicator species for the general health of the planet. They have not, along with amphibians, been faring well as of late. Perhaps the government believes it is better not to let people know how bad it really is getting. Look, proof again that the climate is just fine! The absence of information always works in favor of the Powers that Control.

As an active beekeeper and member of NYC Beekeeping (www.nycbeekeeping.org), I'm shocked by this news. The U.S. is importing millions of gallons of honey from places like China and Argentina that can be produced here. The U.S. needs to support beekeepers and support its local economy.
