You can tell that a president can't catch a break when the media blames him for virtually everything. Just ask former President Bush, still being blamed for the nation's economic nightmare.
Well add President Obama to the down-on-their-luck club, with the hits he took over the weekend for the disaster storm of Hurricane Irene. [See photos of the Obamas behind the scenes.]
"While Hurricane Irene slammed the East Coast over the weekend, right-wing media responded by criticizing President Obama, claiming that he 'politicize[d]' Irene and that his hurricane briefings were nothing more than a 'pathetic' 'command center photo-op,' said Media Matters, a media watchdog group that calls the press slaps "Obama Derangement Syndrome."
The group, which focuses especially on Fox News and conservative media, named names in a press report. Among those highlighted for suffering from ODS, Powerline, Michelle Malkin, the Drudge Report, and Fox. [Read: 'Elitist' Vacation Spot Hurts Obama.]
Spokesperson Jess Levin added that the hits on Obama's handling of Hurricane Irene came right after many in the press poked fun at the president's Martha's Vineyard vacation. "This comes days after the right-wing media's latest bout of Obama Derangement Syndrome, when they absurdly attacked Obama for being on a golf course when the East Coast earthquake struck,"
