I do not know if I can speak as well as Lonnie the Social Studies teacher. I have heard that the more education a person acquires the more liberal that person becomes. Surveys show that the more educated you are, the more liberal you are likely to be. Any comments Republicans? Gallup surveyed more than Source:

If that is the case then I am an aberration. I have two Master Degrees (plus). The more education I obtain, I am convinced more than ever that the Freedoms the Founding Fathers put in place grow more precious each day. Education teaches us of Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Lenin, Mao Tse-Tung, Castro and Idi Amin among many, disarmed their people before they slaughtered them. Go ahead and trust the government and morons like yourself, Bill Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama who would have you give up your Freedoms for a promise of protection and security. It was best said on a bumper sticker: OBAMA – The reason stupid people should not be allowed to vote!

Of course this opinion article is inaccurate, the House of Representatives is passing nothing whatsoever - they are not getting anything accomplished. We all know that and these bums should be turned out to pasture at the next election.

This is a well balanced article by U.S. News & World Report. The gun-hate petty dictators are livid because they are finally being beaten incrementally. Although I am diametrically opposed to Harry Reid’s social and economic policies, his win was essential to keep Charles Schumer and Dick Durbin out of his majority leader seat – the republicans would still have not been able to gain a majority and control the senate. Reid’s staff carefully culls out all anti-gun amendments, and that preserves gun rights for the law-abiding. The NRA is not the National Republican Association and supports pro-gun candidates regardless of political party.

NRA members and especially CHL NRA members are some of the most law abiding folks in the nation. You have no need to fear us Lonnie. Lonnie there are several people who agree with your "no guns" attitude, that being Chairman Mao, Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot to name few. History is replete with dictators not wanting their subjects errr citizens to have firearms. What better way to control them? Our Founding Fathers and documents were wise beyond their years. They lived under repression and did not want their heirs to have to go through this ever again. The extremist group you speak of currently resides in the White House.

I am a history teacher...in fact according to the Praxis II Social Studies Content Knowledge Test (the highest of all tests ANY Social Studies teacher may ever take) I am in the top 15% of all teachers to EVER take it, having an MA in History, and a BA In Anthropology/archaeology. I have also taught in very tough inner city schools in Cincinnati, for the past 10 yrs, while living in very rural Ohio my entire life. I know the Second Amendment, and I have lived it for 45 years. I have hunted, fished, and target shot my entire life. Those of you who damn the right to keep and bear arms, who curse the Founding Fathers, and who admire the UN are utter fools. You are nothing but the tools of the filth who fully intend on turning over US sovereignty to the United Nations; those very same people, led by Obama, himself, want to reduce the United States to nothing more than yet another European style police state, proclaiming to be a free society...what a joke. Do you REALLY want to follow the lead of the part of the world that brought socialism/communism, both world wars, and many tens of millions of innocent dead? Do you REALLY trust the government to ensure all our civil rights, without the Bill of Rights? If you do, then you are utter fools who have lived in some city for way too long. The natural recourse of all government is for it to seize power from the people, and once seized it will never be given back again, as government, ALL government, is RAW self-serving power. May God help us, if we are one day left with nothing but gullible fools from the city, who are used to having little freedom, and then think that such a state is natural and right. Individual freedom will die for good upon that day. As Benjamin Franklin once famously stated, "those who give up a little freedom for a little security deserve neither."

Vince from Maryland provides a perfect example of the sort of poorly-educated emotionally-based lunacy that the gun-ban lobby has depended on for decades.
The NRA is powerful because millions of individual Americans have voted with their wallets by joining the NRA. It shouldn't be surprising---well, other than to a few "doops" [sic]---that politicians pay more attention to genuine grassroots organizations like the multi-million member NRA than to "Astroturf" outfits like the Brady Campaign with its handful of members and its money from the likes of George Soros.
