Bernie Sanders: Make the Rich Pay Off the Deficit

This guy should run on the Deomocrat ticket. He's as screwed up as they are, maybe more. What about all wasteful spending on the 20 or so Czars and all of the increased regulation that has a stranglehold on this country. What about an ineffective TSA that costs billions of dollars and for what? To terrorize 95 year old women and groop children? We need to reduce spending, reduced taxes and reduced regulation. Not an increase in any of these. And by the way, military spending has trippled because the Democratic Congress approved the increases and approve the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. There is no more money left. When are these morons going to get off this kick?? This recession was caused by Democrats and their failed policies, not the rich, not the Republicans, not Bush!!

Uh Bernie, you forgot to mention the most important part of the debacle. Progressives, like you and Barney Frank, pushing home loans that anyone who could fog up a mirror would qualify for - even going so far as to force banks to provide them or face government persecution.

That little slight of hand kept the real estate bubble going for 6 years - then, POP!

The fantasy of never ending home equity and credit lines is what brought the country down when reality came'a knocking.

We're toast Bernie, be a stand-up guy and take some of the blame.

I have paid taxes since 1961. It is time that Oil subsidies are removed. It is time to close tax loop holes.

James Wagner of FL 6:11PM June 28, 2011

I think is time the super rich should get us out of the mess Pre. Bush got us into

joseph mora of NH 6:10PM June 28, 2011

Under the Bush Administration is where these financial problems occurred. Many are saying it's the fault of both parties. Needless to say, it is clear the Republican Party's concern is to get back in the white house at any cost, even at the people and the country's expense, and this must never be allowed to happen. It is high time the rich and well off in this country should be required to pay their fair share, into paying down this debt. It makes no sense in making those who are already struggling to more than they are already capable of. Congress should be the champion of the people, the American public. From where I sit, congress is looking more like the enemy of the people. Sure, there are many good senators on both sides, such as yourself, but it seems most stick to their own personal belief just to keep their own jobs. They should all remember they are they same as us regular people, and only an employee of the government. For everyone of the Republicans and any Democrat who believes, only the middle class and the poor should carry this debt on their backs, should be voted out of office, because clearly they are not working for the majority of the American public. Here on the bottom of the scale there are many probable solutions, and some seems better than what we hear coming from republican solutions. The President should stand up for the American public, along with any sitting senators, and do the right thing for all American citizens, especially if all wants to be re-elected, and not fired from their jobs.
