Newt is crying about a lack of serious coverage on policy?

The same Newt who dragged the country through endless rounds of discussion and spent tens of millions of dollars obsessing over Bill Clinton's sex life?

The clownish comments just won't stop, will they?

I've thought that about the media for a long time, and it's certainly not confined to the New York Times. Part of it, I'm sure, is people's fear of the future and so entertainment of any kind helps to take one's mind off the everyday problems of life and the huge and growing federal deficit.

So far for me, Ron Paul has the most appealing ideas about less non interventionism on the part of the United States. The U.S. is going broke bankrolling all of these foreign adventures, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Defense expenditures are said to be up 81% since 2001. Individuals and smart companies find ways to balance the books, government simply has to do it. If that doesn’t happen, the U.S. won’t be as creditworthy, which means higher interest rates, which means again more debt.

I’d love to see someone who isn’t a politician but really cares about what is happening in this country and is here to serve the interests of its citizens. So I'm with Newt on making this needed point.
