Seeing this list makes me realize I have no idea what is already being funded. I would like to see an investigative journalist use their skills and access to report on what is on the current budget. Such articles would educate myself and all Americans. Knowing who and what the 'government' is supporting will be beneficial in prompting change by the 'people'.

I'm getting my masters in administrative studies and even I can see that The focus of Congress is lost in history. I would like them to fact that fact that the original intent of OUR founders was that their job was to be volunteer. Imagine if when they were done they had no post service coverage or benefits. Think of all the money saved. Instead of cutting their travel expenses by half why not all? Make them pay for travel. As a country we need to look at the list that they put out and think of what is not on there and what shouldn't be. Our ship has been sinking for the last 15 years and as a country we can only blame ourselves for our lack of interest. Now when things are so bad that drastic changes need to be made we blame others. So.... Were do we start.....

Notice their lifetime pensions and off-shore slush fund and Vatican bank accounts were not mentioned. We could probably slash $2.5 Trillion right there!

I am to sick and tired of buying products that are made in China. I am sick and tired of the rich not paying there fair share of `TAXES`. I am sick and tired of the `PARASITES IN CONGRESS VOTING THEMSELVES RAISES WHEN THE PEOPLE ON SOCIAL SECUREITY HAVE NOT HAD A RAISE IN 2 YEARS. You talk about budget cuts when any fool (except) the last adminisitration) wood have the `ORDASITY` TO CUT TAXES FOR THE RICH WHEN THERE ARE 2 WARS GOING ON WHEN WE COULD NOT AFFORD 1. Waake up you idiots and do something right for a change.Make thw rich and the oil co. start ponig up some of the money they have been steeling from us at the gas pumps. GET THE IDEA???????????

I notice there is no cuts in farm subsidies. Why can't we eliminate the Bush tax cuts to absurdly rich? Same for corporations. Tie their tax breaks with new jobs.

For a job well done. Now get down to the nitty gritty and do what voters have put you in office to do. Suck it up and stop acting like children who are spoiled when they don't get their way. Try and act like professional men and women you are supposed to be. Slash and burn, come on you can do it!!!!

Take a hard look at those companies that have moved jobs out of this country. What tax breaks do they deserve? NONE!!! I'm sick and tired of buying "MADE IN CHINA" products that are made shoddily.

These cuts are easy; if we cannot make some of these; how will we ever get the others? Old governemnt does not work, these are "earmark" or pork barrel projects that certianly need to go

Step 1 eliminate frivilous spending

Step 2 reform entitlements, wisely

Step 3 balance budget amendment and cap spending so these programs do not come back in the next Congress

The cuts are ridiculous, where are the real cuts?? Like for the states

Social Services Programs: cuts of 30 to 35% can be done w/no layoffs

w/focused administration of the agencies. Take foreign aid: cut 35% of

this and save a bundle. Trade: $1 for $1 to put industry back in this

country. Cut Washington staff by 40%, drive your own vehicles, fly

domestic, use the same insurance as everyone else and redo their

retirement to match normal ones. Stop the add ons to every bill that

bilks $ from taxpayers just to get a bill to pass. Everyone should be an

up or down vote. Use the military (with authority) to stop illegal immigration w/border patrol. Less $ giving for education, medical, food

etc. (wow-no savings there). Gov't waste is abundant, have all areas

cut 35-40 of budget (it's there, we all know it is so get it gone).

The list can go on forever, yet they come up w/this bill and believe they

did a good service for our country. High school grads could have done

this or better. Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

America is sliding down the greasy pole of dominant nations. Pulling out of NATO will loose allies that we have had for generations. Of course it will save money, and Mexico and Columbia can come to our aid when we are threatened by China in the future. Glad I won't be alive to see it.

While we are at it, why not fix the IRS (people spending tax dollars to collect tax dollars) buy changing the Federal Revenue collection system from "income tax" (like my Savings account interest is an income) to collecting a National Sales Tax - much more fair to everyone and a direct measure of the today's Cost-of-Living. You buy a house, you pay a sales tax (the IRS collects the revenue over the lifetime of your mortgage, or if you resell your house the remainder is taken in the escrow, the new buyer starts his sales tax record). Exempt some products like food and medicine. Modify the rate based on any "surplus" from last year's "balanced" Federal Budget. The funny part is: everyone is already paying some National Sales tax when you buy gasoline and tobacco; why not "expand" the system to buying houses, cars, candy, DVD's, sex (if you pay a prostitute) and everything else. All of the States are collecting sales taxes in one form or another so the collection structure is already in place - instead of the Federal Government paying a subsidy to each State, they will collect their sales tax revenues. And do not give me any crap about the poor "poor" cannot afford it; between their food stamps and welfare programs they can still get their non-productive check (I do not see them having any problem buying gasoline or cigarettes).
