Of course this is untrue. The American Beverage Association has spent billions in overriding local governments that have trying to be responsible.

This is another special interest lobby that does not want to bear the costs of the diabetes epidemic they bear direct responsibility for the sake of their profits. Responsible Scientists and Doctors overwhelmingly taxes that support curtailing soda and candy consumption.

Face it, American Beverage Association pulls out the big money to kill any responsible legislation to curtail the excessive sugar consumption. There is no big money to oppose the American Beverage Association.

Teddy Roosevelt's trust busting took on 'Big Sugar' a hundred years to fight for the people. We need a Republican like TR again, to represent the people against Irresponsible Monopolies and special interest lobbying operations that are promoting policies that are detrimental to the public interests.

Mr Bedard obviously get paid well to misrepresent for the special interests on a regular basis. I'll bet that lobbyists wrote most of this post by Mr Bedard. Its this kind of dishonest bull is why US News magazine folded, and their website isn't far behind.
