There is the Politically Correct Lunatic Left who wish to destroy Democracy and impose their Dictatorship on their subjects who are saying that any Public Debate on the matter is Racist.
In a totally mono-ethnic country, it could Never be said by Sane People that the law-Abiding Citizens are Racists because they do Not want crimes committed against them, their families, and their friends by people of their own race.
In a totally mono-ethnic country, it could Never be said by Sane People that the law-Abiding Citizens are Racists because they do Not want a Fifth Column in their country, even though the Fifth Column is made up completely of people of their own race.
It is only the Dark and Lunatic Left, who either pretend to suffer from Mental Sickness, or who are Undemocratic, and those who the Dark and Lunatic Left can manipulate and deceive who would say such things.

As a long time Charlottesville resident I love reading Mr. Sabato's articles and commentary and finding out his latest balanced predictions. And as for the above comment from Steve of NC, I couldn't agree more. America's founding principles have been abandonded entirely in favor of a Marxist socialism. Heavier and heavier income tax, the marginalizing of private property and parental rights, ever expanding Federal powers at the expense of the Republic form of government, social programs that cripple the average American's with a self deprecating dependence upon programs funded by hard working citizens while serving to destroy the fundamentals of liberty. As an Army MEDEVAC pilot serving in Afghanistan, I hope that guys I fly back to safety have an America worth risking (and sometimes losing) their lives for. Don't vote for a party..vote for the return of the Republic. Socialism does not work for America. Free enterprise does.

The comment below this one is utter stupidity. To think that putting anything in the hands of government control is progressive is to think that I'm gonna win the lottery. The purist progressives (most democrats) want the government to control every facet of our lives. Our government was never created or intended to work that way. Our forefathers would be appalled if they saw what has happened to our country. Our government was created to give us (the people) a voice and say in what happens with our country, but with that say and voice, there are limitations as described in our constitution to what can be performed. Most power was originally designed to be held at the state level. If your state wanted a form of healthcare paid for by that state, then so be it. But the feds have no place in this power, or power over buying out an american automobile company, etc... We are not France, and we did not become great because of government control. We became great due to the freedoms and liberties that sparked american inginuity, and pride!
