Group Says Clean Coal Means More Jobs

There is a little company that has developed a way to clean the Coal Bed Methane out of the water that comes from coal mining. It seems like they could use the same technology to help clean the air as well. The company is RG Global Lifestyles, and they started as a water purification company, bottling water to drink. Now, they are using their technology to clean coal bed water. My understanding is that they are currently in Australia building a facility, but they are an American company. Maybe the US Government should take a look at them to see if they can help move the clean coal initiative along faster.

There is NO Such thing as clean coal. That's like saying, fire is wet.

Currently there is Research in Carbon Sequestration. And NOBODY Knows what will happen if you pump millions of ton of CO2 Underground. It can't be good..nor there is NO guarantee the CO2 will stay underground.

Mining coal is incredibly toxic and destructive to our environment. Our best bet is to move Beyond Coal and fossil fuels.

EIA estimates there are 263 billion short tons of U.S. recoverable coal reserves. By these types of estimates, the U.S. is clearly the world leader in coal. But yes, coal is extremely dirty. But the simple economic reality is that with the existing installed capacity of coal, it would serve extremely costly to enforce a cap and trade system and to simply replace the billions of investment already possessed in installed capacity. Perhaps clean coal is in fact a pipe dream, we simply don't know until we try. All the emerging technologies for energy generation share the similar fate. We know we want to get away from fossil fuels, but we must do so in a way that makes sense. We need a balanced approach, one in which embraces all realms of energy generation, even it's development (such as clean coal).

It used to be said that what was good for GM was good for America, leading many Americans to be pro-BIG business. We have been betrayed by that misplaced sentiment. Our jobs are out sourced or help be illegals who have destroyed some black industries. Americans are laid off and our lifestyle is diminished. This is the first generation in which our children's lives will be worse off than ours.

Both our political parties as well as libertarians fall in with the BIG business agenda, creating a scenario in which our people can only lose.

Obama has given 'stimulus' money to the very businesses that have put us in the tanker. His health care plan blesses the insurance industry with many new subscribers, enforced by the government. His finance 'remedy' allows the same disastrous securities to continue to be created and allows companies to continue to be 'too big to fail', which are the two reasons why we ended up in this mess.

The Democrats are a tool for business and I cannot see much difference between the two parties. Both even promote a path to citizenship to illegals and want to give them special dispensation to remain working in the country, in spite of the jobs they have ruined for Americans.

Clean Coal? You've got to be kidding. There is no such thing as clean coal, as there is no such thing as safe nuclear since we have no guaranteed safe way to dispose of the spent fuel.

The medial keeps trying to side step the nuclear issue by pretending the issue is the safety of the plants, but the major concern is year after year, burying all that waste - already the old waste is leaking into seas and underground. We want more of this?

No, the future must be in new technology. We must invest in a healthy future 'for our children'. The way we are going now is playing Russian Roulette with succeeding generations - but of course, the politicians don't care because they are only seeing their immediate rewards.

It's up to we, the people, to make them accountable; both to us and to the future.

Clean coal is an oxymoron!

The true goal is to spend more taxpayer money to further a "dirty" industry!

very interesting and perspectively idea of clean coal. Interesting but about this problem said on her election program Yulia Timoshenko (Ukraine). East of Ukraine is coal region with many little cities and many mines. There are big unemployments and it was hope that president Timoshenko make something. But now president Yanukovich and this program is curtailing

there is no such thing as clean coal. the pilot plans are still unproven. even before we finally get a clean coal technology, big business has come whining to the government for money to develop and implement it. that's a typical business-republican strategy. the government is bad when it helps ordinary citizens with health care, or protects consumers against the viciousness of business. but when big business needs money, it goes wailing like an infant to suck on the public (read taxpayers') tit. it's the old story: privatize the profits and socialize the risk. that's what business-republicans are all about. and some democrats too. that's the american way. a way for suckers.
