"Gays and supporters of gay marriage are standing up for their own and others' rights to live a different lifestyle than the one you espouse. That's not bigotry, that's America."

Let's see...she's been called a "dumb bi***", a "stupid wh***", an "a**hole", and she's been repeatedly mocked for her Christian faith.

Yeah, that's not bigotry because gays can NEVER be bigots, right?

meant to say persecuted by the worldly views,

sorry got typing too quickly and did not check my spelling.

Since I am here, I must say that though it may not be a Religion issue to you, it was for Carrie. Although everyone of you has an opinion which I believe Carrie stated you were entitled to and followed it with a "no offense," then simply gave her opinion on the matter. She doesn't agree with same sex marriage because of her beliefs on the Bible, God's holy word. - Keith

Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33. Carrie way to stay true to your faith in God, knowing that by doing so you would be persicuted by the worldly views and surely not win the crown of Miss USA. May others learn from you, and God bless you! - Keith

There are certain flash points which ignite the fury of the social left.

Gov Palin's NOT having an abortion seems to have infuriated the radicals to vindictive rage.

(It seems that choice is choice only when you kill the baby.)

And now, Carrie Prejean has, with no dishonest intent, ignited another firestorm,

by answering forthrightly a question that she was ASKED to answer.

Weird.

Obama made an unambiguous statement that he opposes same-sex marriage,

but he incurs no wrath from the left, because, now get this---

EVERYBODY KNOWS HE'S LYING.

THAT makes it okay.

I have not heard any feminist decry Prez Hilton for using the most vile, misogynistic language

in attacking Prejean.

And these are the same people who foam at the mouth if you

oppose abortion, because the ONLY possible reason you could do so is because you HATE WOMEN.

The hypocrisy of the left is so pervasive that they can no more recognize it in themselves, than can a fish feel any need for a bicycle.

Carrie Prejean may be unkindly characterized as a typical beauty pageant bimbo.

But with this baptism of fire, she has at least demonstrated a spine, something that many of her critics will never understand.

"No offense, but we'd like to block your access to marriage and equal protection under the law. No offense, but we'd like to make up some lies about the gay community and share them with everyone in order to further our inoffensive fascist agenda."

Angina of OR wrote: A bigot is a person who is intolerant of or takes offense to the opinions, lifestyles or identities differing from his or her own, and bigotry is the corresponding attitude or mindset. I would say that all gays are bigots.

---

Based on what?

And those like you who are different from gays while opposed to and offended by gays, gay opinions and gay marriages are what?

I respect her answer... I respect her honesty... I agree with her... I think it was an inappropriate question for the pageant... I think Perez Hilton is an @$$... But I think that using religion as her reason for her belief is discriminatory and bigoted. The only legitimate excuse to be against same sex marriage is because Marriage has been defined as Man and Woman since it's conception. Sometimes Man and Woman and Woman and Woman and Woman and Woman and Woman and Woman... But always Man and Woman. There should be another way to join same sex couples that is the equivalent of marriage so that SSC can have the rights afforded us Heterosexual couples. Gay couples should have the same rights my wife and I have... Just not under the name MARRIAGE. Had she answered like that she would have not only won the crown but she would have won the hearts of all Americans, and made America a beacon of progressive thinking amongst the worlds nations.

As I see it, she deserved to lose with the answer she gave.
