White House Easter Eggs Are Going Green

Everything is going greener these days, including the souvenir eggs commemorating the 2009 White House Easter Egg Roll, which takes place Monday. The White House is boasting that the souvenir Easter eggs use 31 percent less paperboard than the eggs given away in 2008 and that they're dyed with renewable, vegetable-based inks. It looks as if some of the eggs are even dyed green, with a festive Easter Bunny on the front and the president's and first lady's signatures on the back.

Here are more details on the eggs:

White House Releases Souvenir Easter Egg Design and Availability

The White House today unveiled the 2009 Souvenir Easter Egg. This is the first time the egg design has been available to families prior to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, to be held on Monday, April 13th. This year's Easter Egg Roll activities build on the theme of 'Let's Go Play,' which will seek to educate children on the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. This year's egg is the 'greenest' egg in White House Easter Egg Roll history.

The 2009 egg:

·         Uses 31% less paperboard than the 2008 designs
·         Eliminates the need for the paper shred/filler
·         Features an egg-shaped dye cut instead of a cellophane window
·         Uses renewable, vegetable oil-based inks

Interested families can view the egg online and purchase it via the National Parks Foundation at www.nationalparks.org/WhiteHouseEasterEgg

How are kids going to find green eggs hidden in green grass? The few eggs hidden during the event are inconsequential in the whole scope of the planet. Nothing but a PR stunt, like most of this presidency. Much like the "gay family Easter" PR stunt, a concept that is truly sickening. This president is a joke, yet the joke is on us because he's destroying our country piece by piece.
