Monthly smartphone bills down at AT&T

Where I live, AT&T is king when it comes to service and coverage. Verizon is like living in a cave when it comes to reception and this is a metro area. That aside, if AT&T really wants new or returning customers they need to get a decent lineup of phones. When looking to renew my contract, I could not find one decent phone in their offerings, and like the past six years just ended up buying an unlocked phone direct from a manufacturer, rather than one of AT&T's outdated lineups. The other problem AT&T has is their prices for service. I am glad I am grandfathered in at $39/mo for 1500 minutes with unlimited text/data for $10 more a month, because I would refuse to pay for the overpriced and under featured plans they currently offer, especially with Verizon and Tmobile offer much better, lower priced plans. Heck, Cricket and Metro PCS have better options than any of them. AT&T needs to get off their high horse and become more consumer oriented again if they want to gain new, retain old and steal away customers from rivals.
