it's allways the people who make bad choices in life and screw themselves up and the usa and the whole global machine who get the rewards and bail outs and help and support in life, do the right thing and you get it right up the arse. right on ariana WHAT A CRACKPOT SOCIETY WE LIVE IN.i can go on and on but i think i'll just have another beer and chill out. maybe i'll get nice and stupified and drunk, since that seems to be the way our government and society functions now a days, maybe i can understand it all better with a few cold ones, common sense is out the door in the usa, our country wants people to be and act stupid, just like our republicans and democrats with all thier stupid ideas and stupid smiles, im sick of them all. take care of your loved ones and yourself, want true change vote independant or don't vote at all. bye thanks 4 another gov. program that gives it right up the arse.

I have to do a stupid essay on this crap, why does the gpvernment have to be so retarded on there choices!? I think that this is a pointless thing that we are doing.

Great so now the government is handing out money, once again for another dumb idea. I actually looked into Cash for clunkers, and contemplated getting a new car. So i checked my cars availability, that has been parked for over a year collecting dust, unable to pass emissions testing, and only gets 15 mpg on a good day. But according to the government "rules" I should be getting 23 miles per gal so it does not qualify. Well guess what, it doesn't!!

And so now I am still stuck keeping my old car. Since its not legally driveable, I think I will start it up and just let it run everyday so I can continue to pollute our air, apparantly our government thinks its good enough for it. I refuse to put another penny into fixing the car so please don't suggest it..

I now refuse to buy a new car from a dealership. I figure it would be a dumb move on my part to pay full price for something when my tax money is being handed to other people so that they can knock an additional 4500 off.

I guess I will just sit back and wait now until these new cars start getting to the point of repossession.. and than I will go give someone who truly does not know how "Great" of a deal they are truly getting, the difference to bail them out of the debt the government hypnotized them into... and I will end up with the new car the government is telling me I'm not good enough to get now.

What a crackpot society we live in.. .

This is a great idea to get the economy to get on a more fule efficent track, but what if you live in Wisconsin. It is not a requierment to have auto insuranse. If the idea is to remove old cars, the people with these "clunkers" don't have the money to fix there car. What would make them have insurance for that vehicle they can't afford to put parts into.

seems like a good program to me, i think i'm going to go trade in my older car. There is just no possible way the government can help everyone, sometimes you get lucky sometimes you dont.

I had to trade my 10 year old car in a few months back. how about a retroactive help.. Would have helped me to afford a newer car instead of another older used one.

wow, very helpful. $4,500. what happens to those families who don't have the rest of the $10,000/a job to pay off the rest of the vehicle. this doesn't even come in cash. you get a voucher you can probably only use at a dealership. and i'm more of an old school/classic car person, i'm not looking to conform with a more aerodynamic or "fuel efficient" vehicle. i don't see this working as the government hopes it will.
