Unrest in the Middle East has sent gas prices soaring, and the national average is 77 cents per gallon higher than it was a year ago. Data from the American Automobile Association suggests that Californians have been hit the hardest by the price increase. All of the 10 U.S. cities (pop. 200,000 or greater) with the highest current per-gallon regular gasoline prices, according to AAA, are in the Golden State. These are the 10 cities with the highest prices in the nation right now. Slides also include prices from GasBuddy.com, a price-tracking site on which users post local gas price information. Prices were obtained from both sources on March 7, 2011.
