Rep. Alan Mollohan

West Virginia Democrat Rep. Alan Mollohan held his House seat for 28 years before being ousted by state Sen. Mike Oliverio in the state's Democratic primary in May. Mollohan's reputation has been damaged over recent year by ethics allegations. He also gained critics by voting for the healthcare reform bill that passed this year. Oliverio painted Mollohan as a dishonest congressman too closely connected to Washington. Oliverio's tactics worked: he beat the 14-term incumbent by 12 points.
