Why Gays Can Trust Obama

In a previous post, Debra from Ma said regarding don't ask, don't tell:

"If what you say is correct and everyone in the military should have the same rights, then straight married service members should never mention their spouse or children and keep that part of their life totally private. If they so much as mention that they are attracted to the opposite sex, went on a date with someone of the opposite sex, are married and love their husband or wife, then they should be kicked out of the service for not keeping their private life private. This is the way LGBT service members have to live. It's discrimination, and it's an incredible burden to ask anyone to live under such secrecy, let alone someone sacrificing so much for the welfare of our country. Being in a war zone is stressful enough without worrying that any word you might say without consciously censoring yourself might cause you to lose your job."

I had never thought of that. It makes DADT look ridiculous.

Perhaps Obama will do the very easy repeal of DADT right before the election, to appease the gay community. I hate politics.

Well, we pulled our obama stickers off of our cars, his plaque out of our window, and stopped listening to the emails. No more money either, not until our "fierce advocate" starts showing signs of life. We are in a wait & see mode right now. Obama lost out on two who really pulled for him at home and at work. Pretty disappointed. Rooked again? I'm just really surprised that, given his own history of black discrimination, that he would allow discrimination of any Americans. It's taking too long. Bravery is required to stand up to the hatred. Wait and see.

Well I'm not sure Trust of Obama is the right question concerning Obama. I don't think he realised whne he made the promises to us how hard they were going to be to keep once he got into office. One thing I'm Damn sure known we can't Trust Joe Solmonese as everything he says is a lie. He's a manwhore who'll kiss anyones ass to get into a Black tie party !!! He's lost the trust of the LGBT community and I certainly wish the main stream media would quit reffering to him as the "Moses" of the LGBT Community. He repersents a group who's numbers are shrinking as more and more LGBT people see him and HRC ofor what they are an Elist Gay Club.

LGBT people have loving, supportive, respectful, intimate relationships just like heterosexual couples. We are people too and just want the basic right to marry who we love. There is absolutely NO reason for these rights not to be given to us and the hate and disrepect that is shown towards gay people is hurtful and in some cases deadly. People open your minds and start treating EVERYONE the way they deserve to be treated. Seriously!

Sweetheart David, you are intensely stupid if you take your far-fetched ideas and compare them to Gay Marriage.

I do not understand why you keep comparing the dog marriage to gay marriage. Can a dog speak English and declare that it would like to marry its owner? NO. Can a child declare to marry under the age of 18? No. There's the answer to both your questions.

As far as you claiming that Adam & Steve are anatomically similar and therefore cannot procreate---yes, that is true. So since they cannot procreate, are you also going to outlaw marriage for heterosexual couples who cannot produce children? Are you also going to prevent old couples from marrying because they can no longer procreate?

I'm sure you are one of those Christian nutjobs who in their sick mind believe that you are holding the primacy of the Bible & protecting the "sanctity" of marriage. This is AMERICA. You cannot dictate your morals on all individuals just because you and your religion says so. Have you never heard of Separation of Church & State? Furthermore, if you are going to follow the Bible, then at least OWN the whole goddamn package. The bible says, snakes talk, make raped virgins marry their rapists. stone children who lie to their parents, allow slavery, hate gays and ban divorce. Don't cherry-pick your teachings for your own sick personal convictions. It makes you look like a BIGOT & a HYPOCRITE.

Society changes as society's need changes. You cannot hold on to the old forever. This is a clear battle between Traditionalism VS Progressivism. If society never changed and remained under your Biblical laws, women would still be treated like animals, slaves would still be property, divorce would not be allowed and racial inequality would still be acceptable.

This is America. To deny a majority group of people [straight] and deny a minority group [LGBT] the right to marry is a civil right issue. To do so is UNFAIR and UNAmericanto law-abiding, TAX-PAYING, Americans who deserve the SAME liberties and privileges & equal protection and fair treatment in this democratic government. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!

Before you make another laughable response, PLEASE read the famous "12 reasons why Gay Marriage is wrong".

And to set the record straight, homosexuality is not aberrant, deviant, or a handicap. As accepted by vast majorities of professional psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, social workers, and biologists, homosexuality is a normal variation on human sexuality which occurs in about 5% of the human population and in most mammalian and bird species. Being a minority orientation no more makes it immoral than being left-handed is immoral.

I was reading an article some months back by Rense.com and the New World Order for depopulation which includes in this article the promotion on homosexuality, abortion and euthenasia to wipe out 5 billion of the worlds population.

So the gays are really falling for the NWOs plans lock stock and barrel.

They cannot produce children natuarlly so if theyr try to then they are not really gay people but same as any others and don't deserve any credits or financial help.

Just read the article .Cobber Australia

When the race barrier was forced down on marriage, it would destroy society. Bigots and others believed that. Other than the courts, few outside NAACP believed the specious race arguments. Same thing is going on here but there is so much religious INTOLERANCE interjected here. Those that thinks that a civil procedure initiated and licensed by the state is now a Christian or Muslim marriage is sadly mistaken. It is a Connecticut marriage performed by Greenwich, Ct. City Clerk. License issued by State of Connecticut and performed by Connecticut Justice of the Peace.

DOMA is an abomination that ignored the Full Faith Clause of the Constitution.Setting Gays and Lesbians as third class citizens who are not worthy of 1100+ federal benefits and rights.Religious hysteria and the Bush voters ignored the old Christian saying something like this " What so ever you do to the least of us, you do to me" attributed to J.C. carpenters son, Nazareth.

How you treat the lowest in society judges all of that society. Land Of the Free, is a bunch of worthless words, when we discriminate against a significant group people.

I am looking at a new address in Europe where society isn't as backwards an America

The subject of legislation concerning ‘homosexual rights’ presents the most appallingly example of discrimination possible. To be permitted to achieve basic human rights only by claiming to engage in aberrant, deviant and, to many. repugnant behavior is ludicrous.

There is a sizable percentage of adults in our society not protected by the laws of marriage and family. All of these individuals should be encouraged to designate a person or persons to have rights and responsibilities concerning their welfare. Sex, age, or family connection should not determine the choice, and it should include a document subject to change as circumstances dictate. It could include financial matters such as providing for mutual support, rights of inheritance, life insurance, responsibility for joint debt,~~ or not.

There are numerous types of handicaps other than homosexuality that prevent individuals from enjoying the physical, emotional, and financial support of marriage. Feeling ‘homosexual’ tendencies is surely the least of these, and in no way calls for any special consideration.

The flaunting of homosexual relationships has been hugely detrimental to many who shared living arrangements and partnerships that were not in the least sexual. It has often made men, and some women, so uncomfortable they have given up the companionship entirely.

On the subject of homosexual rights in the military, at schools, or places of employment, there should be no need to address the issue at all. Intimate physical relationships should always be intensely private. Many people in the military are forced to live apart from their spouses, a sacrifice for both partners. Everyone already has the right to close personal relationships; anything more intimate should be kept private, not publicly displayed and certainly not a subject for legislation.

Lloyd, see there's the "bigot" word, which helps make my argument when I said, "Since I'm now completely deludid and convinced, anyone who says marrying my dog is wrong is a bigot. Yes, that's the answer. Everyone since the begining of time is wrong and I'm right."

Thanks for aptly illustrating my point for me. Besides the obvious . . . dogs bark, they don't speak. What other issue do you have beside lampooning my "education?" Using my education an argument is weak. That's what we did as kids on the playground when we'd say things like, "Your stupid if you think the Denver will win the superbowl!"

Lloyd wrote: "An animal does not have a legal standing to declare he/she would like to marry. Your argument is poorly stated and unnaceptable to human logic."

Of course it's far fetched, Lloyd, it was intended to be far fetched. Just like the notion of gay marriage and gay rights is far fetched.

So the courts decide what is moral in America?! How funny! The a California court recently declared a tree has legal standing and precedence. Does that mean you can marry a tree?

Let's see you think Adam and Steve can be married despite their obvious anatomical similarities? That makes sense. You think Adam and Steve can be married despite the fact they will never be able to procreate? That makes sense. Get real. Every comment I made is the same logic fringe group use to guilt society into acceptance. And when I or other's use the same logic we are the ones that are sick. We are the bigots. We are the one's lacking an education and using poor logic?! What world do you live in? . . . oh, California. That answers my question.
