WASHINGTON (AP) — Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann has endorsed one-time Republican rival Mitt Romney for president.

Bachmann says electing Romney will be the country's last chance to keep from "going forward" over a cliff.

The reference is to Democratic President Barack Obama's use of the word "forward" as a campaign slogan.

In a statement announcing her decision, Bachmann says Americans can vote for Obama — and for more joblessness, higher energy prices, more government controls and failed economic policies. Or, she says, they can vote for Romney and a "new vision of prosperity and liberty."

Bachmann had challenged the former Massachusetts governor for the GOP nomination. She dropped out of the race in January after finishing poorly in Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucuses.

Mitt might be better off not getting these endorsements. Is a lukewarm endorsement something anybody really wants? I've never seen so many weak endorsements. Vote for Mitt because he won't be as bad as Obama. Wow. Makes you want to go right out and support the fella doesn't it?

The funny thing is the Pubs think they would have been better off with a "real" conservative. Not in this 50/50 country. If Pub candidate was Michelle or Little Rick or Newt or Big Rick or Herman or Ron, they would have been trounced.
