Santorum campaigns in Missouri as caucuses begin

March 17, 2012 RSS Feed Print

Norman Baxter, 77, a retired corporate communications officer who is the Republican committeeman for the local township, is among those pushing the Santorum slate.

"I'm a conservative — a strong conservative — and I think Santorum represents a lot of the values that I think are very, very important to the survival of this country," Baxter said.

Romney maintains a big advantage in the race for Republican National Convention delegates, with 495 to Santorum's 252, but is still a ways away from the 1,144 needed for nomination.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Rep. Ron Paul, both of whom swung through Illinois earlier in the week, are also on Tuesday's ballot. But Gingrich has turned most of his attention to Louisiana, which votes next Saturday.

Thank you God for giving me a brain and the wisdom not to be fooled by Mike "Huckleberry's" personal puppet and spokeshole Rick Santorum. Not that Romney or Gingrich are any better, it's just that Santorum can pander to the truly stupid like not even his mentor "Huckleberry" could ever do. Santorum is not even a smart guy! How can any rational-thinking human being think that this clown is a Conservative? He's a BIG GOVERNMENT control freak who doesn't even have a viable plan of action. He can't win the Republican nomination, and will never get anywhere near the 1,144 delegates needed to clench the nomination. Anyone voting for this guy is essentially wasting his or her time but I guess a dumb person wouldn't be able to figure that out. So keep voting for Santorum all you idiots!
