Santorum: Global warming is politics, not science

By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Rick Santorum says President Barack Obama is pushing a radical environmental agenda that unwisely limits energy production and turns its back on science.

Santorum told voters in eastern Ohio on Monday that science is on the side of those who want to aggressively produce more oil and natural gas in America. He said the notion of global warming is not climate science but "political science."

Santorum said Obama and his allies want to frighten people about new oil-exploration technologies so they can get your dollars and turn it over to politicians to win elections "so they can control your lives."

Ohio's GOP primary is March 6.

Santorum also planned several campaign appearances later Monday in Michigan. Voters there go to the polls on Feb. 28.

Perhaps Mr Santorum could cite some studies to back up his claims on climate science? I'd welcome anything credible. Heck, I don't want to believe in man-made climate change either, but unfortunately the overwhelming majority of climate scientists do.

Yes, climate change is a global scientific conspiracy involving 98 percent of all scientists and almost every other country. Sounds more like Santorum is in denial than Obama is trying to cash in. (How is he supposed to cash in? Uhm....this debate started way before he was elected.) I suppose we could have a good debate on what is causing global climate change, but to think all the crap we put in the air has no effect on our planet is just on the face of it, ludicrous. I'd rather be prudent and practical and limit CO2 emissions, than be reckless, take a HUGE risk and let global change continue. .
