Vegas GOP chief: Caucus count to go all night

February 4, 2012 RSS Feed Print

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Republican party official in charge of counting Nevada caucus ballots in Las Vegas says the process is expected to take all night.

Clark County GOP vice chairman Woody Stroupe says party officials are recounting every ballot cast in Nevada's largest county to make sure there aren't any mistakes.

Stroupe tells The Associated Press that 8 of 40 caucus sites have been counted in the first four hours.

He says the recount isn't because of a challenge, but that it's just party procedure.
