It amazes me how much time our President has to be a celebrity. He has time for Leno, Letterman, Oprah, maddow, campaigning, Olso for olympics, preciding over the UN. Concerts every other week. Golf 24 times in nine months. He has given more interviews then any other President in his first few months. He gave interviews to Men's Health. He has spent more time on TV then Bush and Clinton combined in their first nine months.

Obama talks a good talk, BUT, his actions worry me concerning the mid-east! I fear an ulterior motive is in the work!
Frank Drozdickof MA11:15AM October 29, 2009
Obama is an impressive speaker, but it stops there. Some of his actions really scare me and should be challenged by the press, but whatever he does is applauded by the press. His overt attempts to destroy Fox News reminds me a bit of the Nazis, yet not none in the media said a word. Where was US News??? Suppose it was your magazine that was "shunned"?

Look, since it went monthly I haven't been too thrilled with USNWR. Years ago, I was a loyal subscriber. I gave up print for a while, then about a year ago I gave the mag another chance-- mainly because I remember in the 1990s it was, between the big THREE newsrags, the most balanced. John Leo was a great columnist, and even though I didn't always agree w/Mort Zuckerman, he provided great food for thought.
Now I see the magazine falling the way of the rest of the ignoble media.
Sycophantic, lapdog lines like this are enough to illustrate:
"He was, as usual, methodical, cerebral, and dispassionate..."
This REEKS of, yes, I'll say it--LIBERAL BIAS.
What is clear to anyone with a modicum of objectivity is that BO is in WAY WAY over his head. He has a cabal of "advisors", like all Presidents do...but these folks are truly thinking for him more than any President in memory. Recall how Rove was called "Bush's brain", or how Reagan was laughed at for being a mere "prop" to what his advisors wanted him to say? I do. BO is, it is clear MORE prone to lean on what his handlers tell him than EITHER of those two men.
Even the simplest tasks for him involve the detailed use of a teleprompter. And he sounds like an utter kook if he goes off script...like the "postal service" comparison to Fed Ex. Notice how Rahm Emmanuel got him OFF THE ROAD real quick when those town hall meetings were met with opposition by middle class Americans? He can't deal.
But none of that seems to capture the attention of the BO-loving media. You "watchdogs" of the press, nearly to a person, seem content to continue your fantasy that he is a genius.
Heck, even the latest cover of USNWR is a virtual iconography to Obama. Mine went right in the trash. And this "interview" confirms why.
The next year of magazines you'll be publishing without my dime, folks. I'm done. Maybe I'll subscribe to a publication unafraid to take on this White House.
One thing is for sure: that publication is NOT USNWR.

History has not yet written the paeons to Obama
Herbertof FL8:39PM October 28, 2009
And they wonder why people are flocking to Fox news. Obama brought us ACORN,Van Jones,man/boy Jennings, Dunn, Wright, Ayers,Flager,Doran,Retzco,Emanuel, Moveon, and Axelrod. There is an ounce of substance to any of these people or organizations. This is not leadership people....it is outright fraud!!!
williamof FL6:01PM October 28, 2009
All those comments made to attack Obama seems irrelevant to this article. In this interview nowhere has he stated he is pro-nationalism, pro-socialist or against individualism. And these people tried to take every chance and space to attack him even it has nothing to do with the words he expressed in this interview. If attack means attack by all means then your points will not be treasured by others. Please stop and sit down and concentrate on details of this interview..and attack him dpecifically on the points in the context, if you want to have a rational discussion....

This boy wonder is so stuck on himself I am amazed he is able to move his lips when he speaks.
Too many ( the electorate) people equate competence with a well spoken man. The problem is, this boy is incompetent, and dangerous, as he belives he is the messiah, the boy king.
In reality, he is controlled by others much smarter than him.
He is the mouthpiece for the destruction of America. Just look at what he has done, or not done, and the results of his 9 months in office. He is aided by others in the conspiracy, mostly all the dumbocrat thugs in congress.
Wake up America, and throw the bums out, before the bums throw you out. Oh--it cant happen here ? It already is.

Yes he is different, thank God, one of him for one term is more than enough. No way to defend Nixon on any count, he was as much a danger to our liberty as the current President is, and a man with just as much of an ego and unable to take critics. Now Regan, while he had many faults, worked on the basic principal “don´t let morality get in the way of doing what is right” which was and is just fine with me. That´s how the real world works. He also never lied about anything really important, like just what is in a Bill before Congress, never demeaned his opponents nor questioned their loyalty as citizens.
And wow, what a crime! Truman destroyed FDR´s friendship with Uncle Joe. FDR was either wise to use Stalin the way he did to defeat the Nazi´s or naive, I don´t think he was naive, perhaps a bit too trusting. Churchill, who was FDR´s friend, never understood it, either. The loss of a friend like Stalin what a shame a man that takes over and subjugates half of Europe to half a century of despotic rule, kills thousands upon thousands of his own citizens, threatens world peace by building the Berlin wall, not to keep people out but to keep people in declaring his intent to spread his influence throughout the world by force. Now that is a really sad tale and a terrible loss.

I'll keep my money, guns and freedom. You can have the change.
