Yes, shame on Joe Wilson - for breaking rules of decorum. However, if that is his only "sin", let's all be grateful, because on the flip side - is indeed one of the BIGGEST LIAR!

Naturally, Obama would rather let the issue die quietly than to bring more attention to his lies!

My heart is saddened that those who are elected to help make decisions for our country have no more dignity than the person who threw a shoe at President Bush. If Mr. Wilson is not made to be brought before the floor of his peers (and I use that word loosely because I don't believe even those who are staunch Republican would behaved in such a manner,) we are leaving ourselves open for more of the same disrespect for government leaders in this country. I looked at Senator McClain when he made his speech after losing the election and he had to asked the Republicans to stop booing and to be respectful. That behavior did not take place when President Obama spoke of the Senator. I always believed that Republicans were the rich, sophisticated, classy, members of our society. I am seeing more and more of just the opposite.

Nancy Pelosi promised to drain the swamp of corruption in the Congress and she and Charlie Rangel have lunch together. Murtha is still running loose. What grand hypocrisy. As Speaker of the House, she looks like a wizened dwarf in a giant's robe - when compared to Tip O'Neil, Sam Rayburn, or New Gengrich. She has exhibited no leadership. The thing about Joe Wilson's outcry is that it is the only thing remembered and talked about from a speech that lasted 48 minutes. Obama has diddled away the first few months of his Presidency on endless vacations and rah-rah stump speech reenactments for audiences who are still in his camp. The speech was supposed to be a slam dunk to correct the record. Joe Wilson stole the show in about a second and a half with two words. His coffers are brimming with donations now.

Pelosi ahould shut her mouth and leave Joe Wilson alone in the House. He has already apologized!

That stupid woman has not apologized for her many false statements in recent months. Why doesn't she cesure the lying, cheating scumbag Chharles Rangel who is a true disgrace to the House of representatives???

Is anyone aware of any other such incidents in a Presidential address to a joint session of the House and Senate?

Shame on Congressman Wilson for not appolgizing to the House. He broke a rule of decorum that has seldom, if ever, been broken before.

Gee ... Harry Reid has called President George W Bush a liar on multiple occasions ... with absolutely no feeling of remorse or any apology. That's a whole lot worse than Wilson who has shown remorse and apologized ... but I haven't heard anyone whisper a word about it ...

... or does Reid have racial hatred toward Texans???

Obama doesn't want to linger on the "lie" comment because it draws attention to the lies Obama is telling. Obama WON'T let me keep my health care because I pay my own way, with my own money, and have assets for catastrophic. Baucus already has said the bill will FINE me unless I buy into the gov't insurance. The Constitution would prevent me being fined so it would be considered a TAX. And Obama PROMISED we wouldn't have a tax increase.

On July 30, several veteran groups sent letters to Congress expressing their concerns on proposed health care legislation. On behalf of 24 million veterans they wrote “We are writing to express grave concerns about HR 3200, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. As currently drafted, we would oppose this legislation because it could limit the health care choices for veterans, increase the cost of health care for veterans, deny coverage to dependents family members of veterans, and threaten the quality of health care offered to veterans through VA health care system.” The letters, which I received 9/3/09, run several pages. The pdf documents were provided to me directly by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) association, and include official signatures of: VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars); AMVETS (American Veterans); DAV, Blinded Veterans Association; Jewish War Veterans of the USA; Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA; Vietnam Veterans of America; The American Legion; Wounded Warrior Project; and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Among the issues of concern are: Penalty Tax for failure to enroll in an “acceptable” health insurance; disincentive for employers to hire members of the Reserve components; multiple health care options; independence of the DoD and VA health care systems; third party reimbursements for treatment of nonservice-connected conditions; and penalty tax on Reserve components Federalized or activated by the Governor. These are real concerns by real patriots and should not be dismissed as rantings of an ill-informed few. The documents are available for USN&W Report staff if they want them. I've sent them to many in the press but no one will cover the issue.
