I think Obama took a good line on Iran. Regardless of the election outcome (Ahmadinejad or Mousavi), Iran's stance would not have changed much. Although Mousavi may have been more amenable to negotiations, and therefore a better longer term prospect. Iranian authorities and the Supreme Leader would never admit to being responsible for the protests, so external actors had to be blamed, even to the extent of complicity in the shooting of Neda. There is good analysis on www.asiachroniclenews.com. You should have a look.

And Ahmadinijad still blamed the west, so much for not giving the appearance of meddling.
They are going to say you meddled regardless because conspiracy theories is their bread and butter.

Is the issue of your party affilation relevant on the world stage ? I do not think the people in ANY country give a big WHOPPEE !!!!!!!!!!!! to that answer. They care about how America see's them in their current plight and what our country and the freedoms we represent can be used to relieve themselves from the onerous situation of the day.
Countries in this part of the world have been fighting since the area was known as Mesopotamia , to Persia and present day Iran. Our culture and values are not reflected in theirs because of the issue of theocracy plays a much more prevelant role than our country. Do not mistake this as a dismissal of our judeao christian values compared to those of the MUslim faith. On the contrary the fringes of both our worlds are similar in the quixotic fervor for their version of the truth.
Money has never solved a crisis in a foreign country other than to add fuel to the despotic regime in power at the time the debit card is swiped. Now the problem is we are over whelmed by the magnitude of the debt , home and abroad that I am afraid that a more serious mentality will overtake the ability to control our ability to distinguish a brush fire from a forrest fire.

For thousands of years Iran has had the opportunity to embrace freedom and democracy.Do not throw American tax dollars to this dictatorship in any capacity.Use the money for American enterprise instead. You know good use.

If some of you warmongers would stop taking testostorne pills and smoking who knows what and clear your head and use your brains, you would be able to calmly observe and reflect on the impressive game of poker President Obama is playing on the world scene.
Thank heavens for the thinking and planning capability of the current resident of the White House.

It seems that Obama thinks all that a president has to do is spend money. Money that we do not even have but spend-spend-spend. Now cap and trade may make us all spend money that we do not have for gas for our cars, heat for our homes, business for the energy they need to operate. Is socialism what he is trying to bring to the United States more and more? Government control of car makers, banks, attempting to control the thermometers in our homes and business. Is all this the change America said people wanted?

Why support a president who is all talk and no walk. I mean he is pretty much telling Iran to take in consideration their actions but has no intention of backing up his words. He is indecisive and i think that he should either completely ignore and have no comment on whats happening in Iran and let it backfire on us in the end or take action and DO somthing about whats going on over there not just have us, the United States, sit in the peanut gallery. And Iran has everything to do with America. If this keeps going on all, of Iran's missiles are not just going to end up in the dessert but a much more precise target. We can only play the waiting game for so long.

I believe we have heard about North Korea, Iran, and Iraq. The former president left us in pretty darn good shape in Iraq. Now if the current adminstration will start to work on at least one of the other two and stop blaming The USA for the worlds problems then and only then will we be safe.

Obama is handling this 100% correctly, and I agree. We all stand for Freedom and Human Rights.
