The Cuban Revolution ended Mafia and Vatican domination there. It ended the dictatorship of Catholic Batista. He helped United Fruit cheat workers there. UF had Jesuit investors. Since then, Congress unconstitutionally let the Roman Catholic Mass be broadcast on Radio Marti--all these years. Maybe the broadcast costs are part of the CIA's Black Budget and non-Catholic lawmakers haven't paid attention to the evangelizing that's going on. The US Government is not supposed to advance religion. As a taxpayer I object to tax favors given to all churches. I object to these broadcasts for several reasons. They extend the embargo by pretending everyone in Cuba is a papal subject who "wants regime change." We pay too much for sugar and things made from it. It's unlawful to interfere in the internal affairs of other nations. The Catholic Reference Encylopedia on Pg.1414 of Vol. 4 of one of its editions defines :"Private Property." It says "The Church vigorously defends against those political systems that seek to replace private with public ownership." The Vatican City State should not be trying to change the regime in Cuba and we should not implement its policy.

I was recently in Havana and could not believe how well the TV Marti broadcast was seen. It was perfect. This is such an important tool for bringing the truth to the Cuban people.
