SHE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE TIED TO THE UMBILICAL CHORD OF LABOR. THE PRESIDENT HAS GRANTED MORE PERSONAL VISITS TO THE WHITE HOUSE TO THE HEAD OF THE AFL-CIO, AND THE GM DEAL WAS MADE IN LABOR HEVEN. THE SECRETARY HAS LITTLE OR NOTHIING TO TO TO INCREASE JOBS IF THE ECONOMY DOES NOT IMPROVE, AND WE KNOW ALL ABOUT THE MORONS IN CHARGE OF THAT TRAIN.

"leadership" means making hard decision and the decided to keep a mine opened that was obviously unsafe to work in at the lass of lives. what is this Solis woman making decisions about that ends up with loss of limbs and pain and suffering. they need to be rethinking their so called labor issues that leave so many without.

Hilda Solis has been made well aware of the abuses by AIG and CNA in not paying medical and disability benefits that the taxpayer has paid for. Her department is the administrator of the Defense Base Act Worker's Comp and allows these insurance companies to walk all over the injured and their families. In some cases her department facilitates the abuse.
So much for cleaning house Hilda. You have allowed the same rats to continue to oversee this department.

Maybe she failed to correct the situation n the mines, but it is hard to tell what the history of that problem really is. On the other hand, her department did triumph last week by winning a settlement in Virgina resulting in a $1.7 million dollars of back pay to be shared amongst 700 security guards who had not been compensated for two months of work.This is the good stuff that happens when someone in a position of power really cares and sets out to get the job done! Someone up there at the Department of Labor must care enough to do the hard work that is needed for important things like this. Furthermore, someone up there at the Department of Labor must have been provided with a work environment enabling such a triumph. Some of this credit must go to Hilda Solis -- so she must be doing something right.

Under the "leadership" of Hilda Solis, we have experienced the worst mining tragedy in 50 years. She cannot blame her predecessor when her own mine inspectors chose not to shut down a mine that they were required by the laws of Congress to shut down one week before the accident when the inspection disclosed unwarrantable failures concerning ventilation and escape procedures.

sooooooooo, according to some U.S citizens what was going on for 8 years which we U.S citizens are suffering in result was not bad enough? seems like some of us had brained washed or shout in face so hard that we just have to be against people who care for this country,Hilda would be one of the best things ever happened to American workers, for blind people everything is black and white,

Why did Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats strip E-Verify from the stimulus bill?? This now means that about 300,000 jobs created with OUR tax dollars will go to illegal immigrants instead of to U.S. citizens and legal workers. This is unsconscionable.

This would be one of the heaviest blows to American workers!!! Doesn't anybody have any more sense of fairness and what this measure would mean for the future of the U.S.A.? Have American leaders lost all their wits? Perhaps we should open the floodgates and invite all, regardless of their background and put up the white flag on the White House, Congress, Senate and the Supreme Court! I am looking for a tiny island in the Pacific to escape to from this crazy country. Help!!!!!!!
