Ah yes, I think Obama will be a great "edition" as well.
Seriously, Obama was clearly the better of the two options we were given. I have tremendous respect for the man, especially his work in the inner-city of Chicago, and I am excited to visit DC to witness his inauguration, but he's not the messiah. America will be better off than it would have been under a conservative, but it will still be quite far from Utopian. America will still probably stick its nose in the business of other countries for some time, and will continue making life miserable for the poor people in other countries who we allow our corporations--the guys who really run things--to exploit. But let us pray that Obama has the wisdom to begin moving us away from that!
Hopefully we can make some real progress toward basic things like universal health care (Obama doesn't go all the way there, but is a big step in the right direction) that the rest of the post-industrial world enjoys (including a 95% satisfaction rate to the north in Canada). America, according to scientific/measurable standards is far behind on health care, so perhaps mirroring concepts from countries that are doing better than us by the numbers might prove beneficial.
