This would be a great time to make a major announcement about building a national real High Speed passanger train network like the TGV in France. Similar to Eisenhower and the interstate highway system.

I and many other supporters over 65 would be delighted to be at the Baltimore stop or just to stand near the track to wave our support to the next President and his VP.as we may not be up to the DC trip. Where do we get information about this?

I cannot wait for this train trip.....I heard about it tonight by accident on WHYY 12 out of Philadelphia.....I LOVE public TV and was thrilled to hear about this decision and this train ride.

They will be safe, they will be welcomed by many along the way....it promotes a great message (save gas) and it is just inspiring..... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO US ALL!!!!

Nothing tiresome about Obama! They are exciting and have inspired hope in so many of us. Change is on the way and the direction he is headed is positive!! What a thrill it is to listen to his very intelligent answers to questions -- so verbal.

As for the security risk --- it's part of the job as we just saw with Bush in Iraq. I was actually surprised that the second shoe was thrown at Bush -- where was the Secret Service? That was a little unsettling.

I think that many of us are worried about our great President-elects safety but I have confidence in him that he will stay safe.

Good Grief!

I hope we shall not have an administration given to showmanship to demonstrate transparency and openness. That will get old fast and become tiresome.

I agree it is a nightmare of a security risk!
