Details are emerging about the Tuesday morning mass stabbing at the CyFair campus of the Lone Star College System near Houston, Texas.

The suspected assailant was identified in court as 20-year-old student Dylan Andrew Quick. Quick confessed to police that he fantasized about killing people with a knife before carrying out the attack, according to news reports that cite an overnight court hearing.

Quick failed in his mission to murder classmates, but the attack landed two of its 14 victims in critical condition. CBS affiliate KHOU-TV reports that as of Wednesday morning these victims are now in good condition.

The community college's campus was plunged into pandemonium shortly before noon Tuesday when Quick entered the campus Health Science Center building and began to stab fellow classmates.

According to ABC affiliate KTRK, Quick is currently in a mental hospital. He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

"The defendant gave a videotaped confession, admitting he stabbed complainants multiple times with an exacto knife because of his fantasy to kill people," the judge said.

Eric Betrand, a fellow student who previously worked in the Marine Corps, told KHOU that he wrestled Quick to the ground with the help of three other students.

"We saw a girl coming down the stairs. She was holding her neck, and she was bleeding a lot out of her neck," Betrand told the TV station. After the four students knocked Quick to the ground, Betrand said, "he put his hands up and he said, 'I give up! I give up!'"

"I'm deaf. I'm deaf," Quick told the arresting officers, KTRK reports. The station reports that according to witness Michael Chalfan, "he had a sinister look on his face kind of a smile and a satisfaction grin after doing it."

Quick was teased by classmates, Chalfan told the Cypress Creek Mirror, and had received a cochlear implant to improve his hearing. "It's really sad because I'm pretty sure all this could have been avoided if people didn't make fun of him," Chalfan said.

Police used a Taser gun to subdue Quick, Chalfan told The Mirror.

Quick told police he only stopped stabbing people because his knife broke, KHOU reports. A prosecutor said during the overnight hearing that "a bloody knife tip was removed from the chest from one of the complainants."

[EARLIER: Police Search for Second Suspect

Police were originally looking for a second assailant, but Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia clarified Tuesday afternoon that surveillance tapes showed "one and only one" perpetrator. Confusion has reigned after other recent school attacks. Immediately following the December Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting there were erroneous reports of a second suspect.

A message posted on the CyFair campus's website says classes will resume as scheduled Wednesday morning.
