"Steele said the bill of rights would protect Medicare, prohibit a government-run insurance option..."
Just exactly what does this idiot think Medicare is?
Auntie Spammof CA12:40PM August 25, 2009
Republicans are now saying that no one should ever limit what Medicare and Medicaid pay, to protect their new found rights. According to the Social Security Administration, ssa.gov, we have maybe a decade before the entire system goes broke, and it only gets worse from there.
Democrats say that they want to reduce the costs of medical care. But their pet bill HR3200, has only provisions that would increase those costs, at least for private insurance. And no bill has put any limits on Medicare and Medicaid, other than to simply cut payments.
Pick you lie, folks; pick your lie.

Obamacare has nothing to do with improving or expanding health care. It's just another power grab that will further destroy our health care, destroy our economy, steal money from our children and grandchildren, multiply our deficit, and enslave us through lies, manipulation, intimidation and coercion.
No wonder the Russians are gloating: “The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe. http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/107459-american_capitalism-0
Fortunately, as we can see in the town halls, most Americans have NOT been dumbed down and they will do whatever necessary to defend themselves, their children and grandchildren from Obamacare and Marxism.

Michelle, every thinking American KNOWS that Obama is lying. In communist doublespeak, Obama may call his death panels, "life panels," but that does not change the fact that, as per the House bill, http://www.jeffhead.com/HC-HouseII.pdf (pages 425-430), we would be asked to receive end-of-life (death) counseling when we turn 65.
Obama's lies do not change Obama's pro-abortion and pro-infanticide (late-term abortion) stand, nor the aberrant eugenic stands of Obama's Health Care Czar Ezekiel Emanuel and Science Czar John Holdren.
Obama’s Health Care Czar Ezekiel Emanuel, rightfully called “Doctor Death,” would make Dr. Kervorkian proud. Dr. Emanuel has said that “Medical care should not be given to those who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens.”
As per Dr. Emanuel, your mother suffering from Alzheimer’s or your child diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome SHOULD NOT receive medical care. http://freedomedium.com/2009/07/barack-obama-appoints-doctor-death-as-health-care-czar/
And Obama’s "Science Czar" John Holdren has called for population-control policies such as forced abortions, mass sterilizations, and mandatory population controls. http://www.prisonplanet.com/john-holdren-obamas-science-czar-forced-abortions-and-mass-sterilization-needed-to-save-the-planet.html
Fortunately more and more Americans are waking up and they are refusing to be FOOLED by Obama's ridiculous lies.

Please add, The right to loan or give all of your retirement funds to your children and grand children when they urgently need medical treatment that they can not afford. The right to watch your children and grandchildren forced into bankrupcy, and lose their homes when they have a family medical crisis.
The right to watch your children and grandchildren denied lifesaving treatment because their private insurance company Already has a death panel in place.
The right to see your grandchildren denied coverage and health care for pre-exisiting conditions that they were born with.

Note how powerful the completely discredited "death panel" and "euthanasia" lies are. The first poster above repeats them, even though they are GOP misinformation.

It is evident that many of our elected officials cant read. If they could they certainly can see a modified form of eutahnasia. Mr. Obama in a town hall meeting did everything but admit it when he was ask a question, by the daughter of a lady who was over ninety years old and at that age had received a pace maker. Mr. Oboma answer indicated that under the new plan someone else would have to look at the situation and make a determination. Seems like this leaves seniors health care in others hands to decide for people who are able to make the decision theirself. It worries me to know that some one that doesnt know me, that could care less about me, has the power to deny an operation that would add many years of quality living to my life, instead would approve only medication to keep me comfortable for a short time. Also in the campaign I believe I heard the that we all should have the same insurance coverage as our elected officials, this week when ask about this statement ,and after much stumbling and stuttering I heard a NO. I hope that our sons and and daughters, our grandchildren WAKE up to the fact we old folks still love our families and we need their help in overcoming this change that we aare getting and that the wool is being pulled over all our eyes. what said and what is written is two different things its all in the interpretation and who is doing it. Dont trust it unless it is spelled out.

except it ISN'T funny.
You have Republicans (who fought Medicare ever being enacted) now vowing to "protect" Medicare. You have them doing this to fight the very liberals who brought seniors Medicare in the first place and who have fought hard to ensure that Medicare is not some "free market" solution that would otherwise be bankrupting 90% of the seniors before they die.
Any senior who buys into this is selfish, stupid as a fencepost and woefully dishonest in politics to boot.
Muserof NM7:00PM August 24, 2009
Who listens to Republicans? Why? Fiscal Responsibility? Moral Leadership? Foreign policy acumen? National Defense? Non of the above.
Now, if it's Fear, Hatred, Distortion and Division you're looking for. Vote Republican. They've got a Bridge to Nowhere to sell you.
thebob.bobof MS6:45PM August 24, 2009
Keep in mind that the GOP is good at making laws to control people like themselves. They support the death pentalty because if it didn't exist they would have no compulsion to kill. They are well know to head committees against pedophilia while sexting underage pages. They head committees against homosexuality while being closet homosexuals only to get busted hooking up in the bathroom of some airport.
When the GOP presents a law to protect patient rights, it's because they would reduce patient rights. When rail against the idea of "death-panels" it because they thought of "death-panels". No one even heard of them until some Republican brought it up.
Wouldn't it be easier to simply not vote them into office? Then they wouldn't need to create laws to protect the rest of us from themselves.
