Judge in Miami Rules Florida Ban on Gay Adoption Unconstitutional

Honestly, i believe that homosexuals should be allowed to adopt. It doesn't matter whether science proves them unfit parents or not. There are alot of children in the world with unstable families, and the majority of them are heterosexual. Also all this stuff about homosexuality and the link to pedophilia is a lie. There is no evidence to prove it. My mother works for DCFS and I can vouch that the men and women abusing children are heterosexual. I have no discrimintation against anyone but the people who think that homosexuals should be denied the right to adopt are clearly people who believe in religion way too much. God INTENDED for a man and a woman to be together but there is nothing in the bible saying that a man and a man or a woman and a woman could not be together. Yes they cannot reproduce but, alot of heterosexual men and women are not able to reproduce. Fact, they are not able to get married but that is only because this world thinks that homosexuals are another kind of species. Discrimination in general all over the world should be over looked. If people are so much different just based on sexuality, race, and wealth then maybe the lights of the world should be turned off so people can be based on personality. Because i can say that there are alot of bad people that are wealthy or that are black or that are white or whatver race they may be. This world contradicts itself. It's ironic that I as a 16 year old child can say all this and have the support of many different people.

Where does it stop? If we can't accept homosexuals, who CAN we accept? I mean, why stop at homosexuals when there are so many OTHER people we can ostracize? How about democrats, why not them? Or people who prefer chocolate ice cream to strawberry? Why don't we outcast them as well?

You know, people used to have the same view about African-Americans, and Jews. And you know how those people are viewed in society today? Nazis, the KKK, those are the types of people you are associated with. And considering that mere association with one of these groups is enough to discredit something in most peoples' minds, well, I'll just say "think about it".

I think homosexuals should be allowed to adopt. There is no scientific evidence WHATSOEVER that proves them incapable of effectively raising a child (and science trumps bible any day). Just because someone prefers men over women does not mean they are unfit to raise a child, and what they stick where is no one's business but their own (excuse the pun). I must say, I am ashamed to be of the same species as you.

I personally support gay adoption but I have to be against it for a debate in my law class. It is ridiculous trying to find logical reasoning to ban gay adoption. What will my defense be? My sweeping generalization is that gay people are more depressed and unstable and should not be able to adopt - the end. Some reason I don't think that is going to stand very well in class.

WOW!!!! The first time I commented I hadn't read all these hateful posts... I must say, I agree with Mike of Fl about people liking same sex having head problems because these hateful comments have just busted me into laughter which makes me think that I might be a little crazy compared to all of you sane heterosexual prophets preaching the word of "god" that are all so bitter and angry about everything. I never get into these internet posts or get involved in any rallies because I'm busy with a "life" you know... raising children, working, the usual day to day life that we "crazy perverted" homosexuals live. But as I was reading the news I started to read these comments and really could not resist myself.

First of all... those of you who call yourselves "Christians" who go around playing god please refer to John 8:7 "Let him among you who is without sin be the first to cast a stone at her." In response to Pats lovely hateful comment... I'm sorry that your children are being raised to be such haters... there will be changes and you could count on that so you might want to consider looking into relocating to another county or homsechooling... and btw, nowhere in the constitution does it say otherwise!!! Oh and I don't think that Lauren from MA would appreciate you deporting all gay people from your state to hers... Would your founding fathers have agreed with all this hate??? I'm sure Hitler had some strong beliefs to go around killing all the Jews as well...

Back off... live and let live... I've been in a gay relationship for 14 years, have 2 loving children, own a home, pay taxes... I'm human... don't worry about my sexual relations they are none of your business... worry about all those child molesters... worry about your sick priests...Don't spend so much time envying our happiness...You could take away our rights (this will change) but you're not going to change our lifestyle!

Children do not have a better life in Foster care than they do at a home where they will be loved and cared for... whether it be a woman and a man, 2 women, 2 men... That's irrelevant. LOVE is what they need... a place to call home. Something that I'm sure everyone who's commented has had therefore doesn't know what it's like to live in the system. All teenagers have issues in life it's part of growing up... to sit there and say that it's because they have "gay" parents is just plain ignorant. What about kids who have single parents?? Maybe heterosexuals should spend more time and effort teaching/preaching about marriage and what what it stands for to prevent divorces and adultry instead of focusing on "gay" marriage, "gay" adoption. Banning adoption is only hurting the children that have no homes... it is not eliminating gay parenting. I am a gay woman and have 2 healthy happy children. One boy and one girl. They love both their mothers very much and woudn't have it any other way I'm sure, because we have taught them about life, love and respect. Look within your own homes before judging and trying to run everyon else's life. Watch the news... all of these crimes and murders that our happening in our schools are not by kids who were raised by gay parents, I would love to hear what the expert from MA has to say about this?? This is ridiculous... Let these children have a home.

Face facts: straight people have the same kind of sex gay people do. Most straight parents won't have sex in front of their kids, and most gay parents won't either.

What you are ignoring is that these aren't newborns being adopted; they are children in foster care who are considered unadoptable. Many of them already have physical, emotional and social problems. Why saddle a child who is already handicapped by giving them gay parents? Because straight couples by and large don't want to adopt them. The vast majority of children adopted by gay parents are going to be way better off with parents who love them instead of being warehoused in a state facility or farmed out to numerous foster homes. They are so happy to have parents who love them that they don't really care about the social stigma they will face.

Adoptions are done on a case by case basis, and each individual gay couple will be examined by social workers just like straight people would be to see if they would be good parents.

If a higher percentage of gay people than straight people have mental or emotional problems, it's not because they are gay; it's because of the bigotry they have to endure from others.

By the way, I used to feel the same way about gay people adopting before I went to college and met someone I admired greatly and found out both his mother and his father are gay. They did a fantastic job with their straight son, who I continue to admire.

Look at people as individuals instead of stereotypes, and you will be a lot more likely to see the truth and you will probably be a lot happier, because you won't have to feel so hateful toward people who haven't done anything to you.

Just had this mailed to me

Homosexuals might come acorss as normal people but when you think about what they do to each other is just makes one sick to the stomach.

Now these children will be subjected to seeing two of the same sex groping and sleeping together

This judge went way over board and has no right to make laws up or throw laws out she does not like.

can just see it

Hey my name is so and so

Ah what time does your mother want you to go home

I do not have one

I am so sorry

No I have two dads

er what

yea my two dads will pick me up and does your jimmy want to come to my house to play

er no jimmy is busy

just wait till these kids go to a black school or an hispanic school where homosexuality is certainly not accepted

wow these children will be so screwed up if this stands

shame on this homosexual judge

lisa of FL 11:10PM November 25, 2008

I have just read all the comments and feel I had to say something about this.

I live in MA and have known many homosexuals who have got children and everyone one of them have problems down the road.

The two children at my school who I teach have become irrational, emotional and very unstable.

Only last week one of them had to go home because she tried to leave school and run away stating that she hates her life and wished she had a mother and her two fathers do not understand what a girl wants.
