The development of ANWR is an illustration of irresponsibility in America. The majority of public vetoes the idea of drilling, and yet there is still an effort to extract oil from a rare and diverse coastal plain. The US leads the world in contributions to global warming, but is globally far behind in efforts which contribute to preventing it. The Bush Era is over: let's progress. The time has come and gone for America to idle argue irrelevant issues while the earth disintegrates; this goes for many other global issue as well.

well before we drill we need to make sure we dont have a disaster because if we did think off all the tragic times oil has been dumped into the ocean it would kill our wild life and other things too.

I think we should save our self and the caribou. Should we save the caribou or drill in ANWR?

DENMY PEREZ of NY 2:56PM February 09, 2009

i think we should just drill oil in the artic because it would save us more money than buying it .we have plenty of it.it would be a very good idea.

and since we buy from some countries that we dont want to get in a war with because they give us oil,and we are the country the nedds or wants it the most.so just get it from here.and then our problems are solved with those countries.

The Society of the United States is Characterized by Civic Values. It is based on equality, integrity and the pursuit of happiness. However, America has fallen away from these values and into the fatal attraction of money.

"We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America." The Constitution is a perfect example of the values this country was built on. "In order to form a more perfect union," we need integrity to be the overriding focus of the American Citizens.

Integrity is the most essential value needed to be and American. At least it should be. "Character is doing the right thing when no one is looking. There are too many people that think that the only thing that is right is to get by and the only thing that is wrong is to get caught." -J.C Watts If American people were to put honesty, sense of duty, and sound moral principles above all else we would not have the corruption in our government leaders. However, America is about bigger and better. Unfortunately, this requires money being put first in the focus. It is up to the American people to change back to the values it was founded on, no mater how much money is involved.

Americans need to take pride in and respect the morals and values that this country was built on. Money and materialism cannot possibly satisfy our pursuit for happiness.Happiness is something we create for ourselves. It cannot be bought nor sold. This doesn't mean that greed is a source of happiness. Greed is a source of happiness for those with the shallow hearts that are not a symbol of America's ways. What we do for happiness may involve money, but the effects should not be seen in personal benefit. Happiness is achieved by doing things for the mutual benefit of all.

Doing the right thing, is not always easy, but it is still the right thing. Confucius taught his disciples that "To know what is right and not to do it, is the worst cowardice." America needs to revive the the morals and values that started this beautiful country. American people should take pride in the freedom of this country. They also need to eradicate the corruption from our government, before that freedom is lost. However, this starts with fixing America's integrity.

well the gas prices have already gone down. We just need to try to invent a way that we don't have to use gas at all. Maybe if we can find an efficient way of life instead of burning up all of our natural resources. We the people need to STOP being so selfish and think of saving our planet. of course the earth will burn and crash one day, but why dont we make that day come later. At the rate that were going, we are going to suffer of the suns rays. that's just my thoughts. Everything goes in a cycle. You pump the gas from the ground. you need to use the gas for crops. etc... i think we need to make everything organic. and do it like the old days. BY HAND! ... of course its easy to just jump on and drive a HUGE combine around for your crops, but think of how much GAS that uses. people just need to put more thought into things. even myself
