I have been corresponding with Joe for about 4 years or so. I think he hit the nail on the head with this statement.

In almost every case," he says, "war is an admission of failure—of leadership, of diplomacy. War is not something you do pre-emptively."

With Joe, I show him respect. He has been there. I am sure he knows the 1,000 yard stare.

Mel Gibson ( in my opinion ) has here one of the best War Movies ever made.

IN THE MOVIE, WAS THERE REALLY A HELICOPTER PILOT NAMED SNAKE" IF SO, WHERE CAN ONE READ ABOUT WHAT HE HAS GONE ON TO DO IN HIS LIFE SINCE THEN? SEEMS TO ME THAT IF WHAT THEY HAVE PORTRAYED HIM AS DOING HE SHOULD BE GIVEN HONORABLE MENTION AND THE ONE WHO SAM ELLIOT PLAYED THE ROLE OF, AS HAVING FOUGHT IN SEVERAL BATTLES WITH HAL MOORE.. WONDERFUL MOVIE, SAD, BUT SADDER YET THAT OUR BOYS WERE TREATED SO HORRENDOUSLY, JUST FOR DOING WHAT THEIR COUNTRY ORDERED THEM TO DO. I SAY, GOD BLESS TO ALL OF THEM.

Just looking at the cover of 'We Were Soldiers Once' brings tears to my eyes. The story made me furious at the powers that were and saddened me to the bottom of my heart at the terrible loss of so many fine men.

Was Vietnam worth it? I think not.

On page 332 where President Bush said on national television, "that the Vietnam syndrome is over and done with" was so cold and callous.

The vets and everyone that was personally affected by this war that wasn't a war have every reason to be bitter.

I thank you and Lt. Gen. Moore for writing such a compelling story.

This is just some input from a seasoned song writer musician .

I think song writing should be paying attention to world community in regard to

womens struggle with life experience . Example ( Song For My Son ) is a song about children weapons or a son away at war . It is culturally diverse because of it's performance .This song has over 51.000 views and growing on You Tube . I invite you to view it and hope you enjoy

As a son of a Desert Storm vet. I would like to thank all military men and women that fight and have fought for the freedom we all hold dear. My dad served twenty some odd years in the Army and can say that I am proud of his decision to serve. I just wish that more people would come to realize that we the people should stand behind our troops and give them the support they need after they come home from war. Again, thank you all that serve or have served in the armed forces. May God bless you all.
