I WAS IN THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY FOR TWENTY YEARS (CAME OUT ALL RIGHT) I HAD FIVE TRUCKS OVER THE ROAD MY PROBLEM WAS FINDING
HONEST DRIVERS. YOU CAN PAY A DRIVER A PERCENTAGE THEN ADD ANOTHER 10 PERCENT THAT HE WILL STEAL OFF OF YOU OR THE CO.NOT ALL BUT A GREAT MAJORITY. MY ADVICE IS TRUCKERS IF YOU CAN'T STAND HEAT GET OUT OF THE FIRE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OCCUPATIONS OUT THERE THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE BIG ROADS. (FIND ONE)

I am an independent trucker and I am doing just fine thank you. I know what I have to charge to charge to make a profit and I know what it costs me to move my truck each mile. This is going to be survival of the fittest. If you other "owner-operators" do not get your head into the business end of trucking, you will not survive. If you are not willing to slow down to save fuel, and to stop idling to save fuel, and to search to best places to buy fuel, then you will probably not survive. Knowing how to operate the truck is not the trick here. It is knowing how to run a business and being willing to do what is necessary to remain profitable. The cause and solution to your problems are in the mirror in front of you.

this country is goin to fold very soon, just because of greed.those men that r runnin those oil companies need to be ousted from there jobs, cause there part of the problem,an the goverment, need to get off there lazy butts an do the right thing an help the people that put them there in the first place.until then all truckers, owner oper. an company drivers need to park those trks, until we get what we need to take care of our familys. if we dont stick together this time an do this the right way,we may never get another chance.we need to prove to the goverment that we can stick together on this, all the big companies like werner,jb hunt, swift, etc. need to help out in this battle.

Dear People,
You are my brothers and sisters, fellow Americans. We all have been touched by 911, the quote " war on terror ", watching our troops in Iraq die for God and country. I have stood idle, seemingly unable to act, to make a difference, crying as I hear my fellow country men have died after being sent to war over oil.
However my grief is not so much for our soldiers, as it is for my country. I grieve because of the greed of my fellow countrymen, men who pose as leaders, financiers, businessmen, Ceo's and Vip's and politicians who don't always tell the truth about our national realities.
A reality I speak of, has to do with the fact we have sent much of our manufacturing capability over seas to keep labor costs down.
Another reality I speak of is because we're not energy dependant, we risk to total annihilation of the USA as a nation. If fuel shuts down to our nation, the food supply stops, Wal-Mart, Kroger,IGA can no longer stock food.
Another reality I see could come to pass, is soon the "American Dream", the freedom to start your own business, and make a profit, having the privilege to improve ones social position and standing conceiveably could be gone. Why? Because the average American could soon not have the deep pockets it will take to go into business.
But at this time all the above are possibilities....
However one possibility I see becoming a probability.
The energy problem of this nation, which has been brought upon ourselves by our own laziness and greed for profit, threatens to undo us all.
How so you ask? I have a simple answer.
We are at war in the middle east. Hearing the news stories about our US oil reserves lasting not even one month could conceiveably mean giving the right conditions, we all could be starving within less than 30-60 days from any point in time our oil is shut off from the middle east.
While this is a scenario, worst case at best, we need to seriously look at this scenario and understand that should we have a world war, we would stand to loose.
When Our manufacturing plants for our own military and domestic production and supply is over seas for profits sake and not for our national securities sake, we stand not only to loose the a serious conflict, but our own nation.
It's time for American people everywhere to wake up! Pay attention and wake up! The enemy is not outside the boundaries of our country. Our greatest enemy is within our country, within ourselves.
Greed is our enemy. It thwarts common sense and reasoned thought, making us as a people targets for the happenstances of our own mistakes. We must protect ourselves better.

i think it's redicolous that gas is going up every week.it's hard to pay a high cost for gas when i can barely afford the cost of food. whats gonna happen next.
we all need to come to gether and right congress along letter. we can't afford the price of gasoline or the price of food.
